Morris Minor Traveler. 1971

11. 00 miles. one of the last built

A remarkable find. NOT A MUSTY OLD 'BARN FIND' but a collector's car sparingly used and always kept registered and driven.

Excellent body with beautiful original deep green paint. fiberglass roof and aluminum body sides. very well preserved original wood trim (photos taken BEFORE I lightly sanded and urethaned the woodwork). incredibly well preserved all original interior. headliner. dash. interior panels. carpets. padding. rear deck. seats. all incredible. even very good original chrome.

Engine is the best fitted. a 1100cc unit connected to a semi close ratio rib case transmission.   Both are excellent. nbsp;  135 psi compression in every cylinder. no smoke. no oil leaks. quiet running. and far more powerful and flexible than the more common 948cc engine.    Likewise. transmission has good synchromesh. doesn't rattle. clutch grabs perfectly.

All new brake pads. wheel cylinders. and brake flex lines.    Front end is nice and tight.   Currently with original cross ply tires (to validate low mileage). but easily switched to modern radial tires (highly recommended).   Even the head lights are original. marked 'European' and a matched set.

Has a lot of items ONLY found on a late model Minor. locking steering column. factory inertia reel belts. negative ground. starter solenoid inside of pull switch. factory ashtrays.    And I installed a modern stereo with USB input under the dash.

Engine bay is very clean. original wiring harness has never been cut into or worn out. has a modern electric fuel pump. starts instantly. runs perfectly. and drives very well.

Even the interior light works.   The fresh air heater is very effective and the blower works.   Exhaust is quiet. has jack and lug wrench. new battery. new handbrake cable. and original fender mirrors.

Can't find any holes in the floor. no bubbling of cracking of paint anywhere. no cracks or chips in any of the glass. even the headlight rubber seal is not cracked.    Leading me to suspect this car has led a quiet. barely used. charmed life.

Now. the paperwork of this car lists it as a 1967 but a conversion with a Morris expect indicates this is one of the last 300 built in April 1971 and it is my suspicion the papers were changed when this car was imported many years ago.    When laws would have prohibited its importation. laws that no longer exist.

It is a beautiful car that is ideal for shows. to advertise a small business. or use every day.    It will cruise all day at 70+ mph. is a lot of fun to drive. helped by its very tight rack and pinion steering and torsion bar front suspension. and the new stereo sounds very good.

And the first reasonable offer will allow a buyer to own and use an absolute jewel of a usable collectable car.
