1963 Datsun SPL310 Fairlady Roadster Convertible. Rebuilt 1500cc 4 Cylinder Gasoline Engine. 4 Speed Manual Transmission. RWD.

Very Rare Find!

This is one of the rarest Datsun Sports Cars in North America.   When Datsun introduced the Fairlady to the US in 1963. the first three hundred (300) were manufactured with a Single Carburetor. If the car was not sold in 1963. they retrofitted the motor with dual carburetors and stamped as 1964 on the dash plate.

Motor was just rebuilt with balanced crank. trued rods. and rings. To our knowledge there are only less than 5 that are road-worthy today. Have portfolio pictures available upon request in PDF.

To the best of our knowledge. there are only 10 running '63 Fairlady's in all of North America with approximately 11 more under some sort of restoration project classification.

Current owner has owned this car for 28 years.

Car has custom chroming on the air filter. oil filter. fan. shroud. oil pan. crank pulley. hood support bar. shifter plate.   Brand new Robbins top. motor bottom-end (rings. main and rod bearings. cam bearings. and stock crank with minor grind) just rebuilt on original motor matching “G” series engine.   Seat face and side panel's custom valor but stitch patterns is original factory design.

Just won third place in the Datsun Multi-State car show in Williams Arizona against all Datsun Rodsters from 1963 to 1970.   Also won Dealers Choice award at Tynan's Nissan during the Z Car Club annual show in Aurora Colorado a couple years ago.

It's not a 10 in restoration scoring. but a real nice weekend driver and definitely gets attention. Lots of chromed pieces. nice valour fabric on seats and door panels but in the original stitch pattern.
