1929 Hudson Super Six

You are viewing a very rare Hudson.   Only about four 3 window coupes are known to exist with this one being the only one that has been street rodded.   The car was found 11 years ago complete in hidden ravine for 50 plus years in the middle of a wheat field near Spokane. WA.   The car was discovered by accident while on a hunting trip.   The ravine couldn't be seen unless one walked into it.   Due to this location the car was unmolested with only a couple of items missing and no bullet holes.   The body was in excellent condition with very little rust that was easily addressed.   The restoration was completed 8 years ago with on 2. 00 miles driven since the car was finished.   The car has always been garaged.

Body/Paint:  All steel body. filled roof. no chop. original hood with factory louvers and grill shell and cowl.   Alternation are few and include replacing the firewall 1 inch forward to eliminate holes as well as leaving room for insulation.   The fenders are all steel with no dents.   The right fender spare hole was filled with sheet metal.   The car has a rumble seat. which is not shown in the pictures.   Head lights are 29 Chrysler with added turn signals.   Lower 12 inches of the doors were replaced with sheet metal.   The running boards were also hand made to replace the originals covered with new custom made rubber mats with the Hudson Six logo.   The splash plate was also custom made.   The roof has been filled and very nicely done to keep the original roof lines.   Custom made grill made out of stainless steel with Hudson Super Six logo.   The car retains its original nickel plated door and trunk handles that are really eye appealing and super rare.   Suicide doors utilizing original piano style hinges.   The body panels and lines are very strait with proper gaps with the doors closing very solid.  

The paint is PPG custom mix metallic base/clear emerald green with blue added.   Nicely done pin stripping through out the body.   The original gas tank was removed and replaced with a new custom built tank relocated behind the seat. 15 gallon.     

Interior:  The interior is all leather with two tone accents.   Power door locks. Power steering. Power brakes with hidden master cylinder and booster mounted in the frame under the driver's seat.   GM tilt. A/C. stereo with CD with two speakers. electric windows.   Seats are out of a Honda CRX.   Gauges are VDO utilizing the original gauge bezel.   No alarm system or cruise control.   Lacara leather wrapped steering wheel and Lokar shifter.   Door fob for locking only using pins.   Over head custom made console.     

Running Gear:  The engine is a 70's 454 with approximately 400 HP. mild cam. ceramic headers. dualed with nice sounding mufflers that are quite. Edlebrock 750 carb.   Custom made 4 core radiator and runs cool using an electric puller fan with shroud.   The trans is a TH400 with shift kit. custom made drive line.   The rear end is a Ford 9 inch. no posi 370 gears.   All rebuilt.     

Suspension:  The frame is original and fully boxed.   It was shortened from the rear by 14 inches.   The front end is custom made rack & Pinion frame with Cougar aftermarket steering box.   4 link rear suspension with coil overs all the way around.

Brakes:  4 wheel disc brakes using Ford single piston calipers.    

Glass:  All new safety glass untinted with original rechromed windshield frame that swings out open.     

Bright work:  All the bright work has been redone and is original.   Very cool and rare door and window cranks.   

Wheels/Tires:  Wheels are Eagle with Cooper Cobras P215/70 R 15 on the front with Kelly Satari HPR LT 315/70 R 15 on the rears.   In excellent condition with lots of rubber.   Look like new.  

Summary:  Don't miss out on this very cool and rare car.   The car looks like a 32 Ford on steroids.   The car offers the extra room for guys that are larger than average offering lots of room.   The cross section of the cab is 29 inches.   The car is very reliable and runs excellent.   Great for weekend car shows and cruises.   Very unique car that gets its share of attention being as rare as it is.   Very rare car with only 4 known titles that exist.   The car is not registered in the Hudson registor.   I have over 130 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures.
