This fabulous motorcar is looking for a new owner to carry on her journey and add more to her history file.

She belongs to a friend of mine who feels its time for her to go to pastures new.

She sarted life in 1931 and was suplied new by Jack Barklay on 26th May 1932 to a Major W. C Gordon Black out of Fife Scotland. according to Bentley records she covered around 30. 00 miles in five years. by 1937 her records are not updated and she goes off the raydar untill she makes an appearance in the west midlands. at "The Corner Garage" under the proprietorship of Mr Harold E Harper in 1954. she was then meandered through a recorded five more owners before coming to rest in the hands of another well known Bentley enthusiast in 1962 by the name of Mr Philp Pardy of Epsom Surrey.

Mr Pardy took this elegant lady on many adventures between 1962 and 1969. one of these more notable journeys was a single handed run from Lands End to John O' Groats in under 24 hours. which she completed with no fuss. a record of this fantastic journey was recorded by the BDC and can be found in the April 1965 issue of the review.

Some time during 1969 Mr Pardy thought the lady was due for a much earned restoration. and she was totaly dismantled in order for this to occur. however due to unforseen reasons she lay asleep for the following 30 years awaitng her revival.

In 2000 my friend Rev David Smethurst purchased this lady as a large Meccano set but with the proviso that she was returned to the road in the clothing befitting of a lady of this stature and not another four seater Le Mans replica or 4/8 special.

In 2001 David began the massive task of rebuilding her to her former glory. this ended up taking 12 years to complete. It consisted of a complete engine rebuild which included new modern style bearings. new APR crank shaft bolts. new piston rings were fitted to original pistons. new sleeves and rebore. the Cylinder head was rebuilt and hardened valve seats inset to allow for unleaded fuel.

Modern style oil filter was incorporated to make it easier to change and find replacements at economical prices.

The engine on this motorcar is most probably better than new.

The magnificent bold 4 Litre radiator was restored by a radiator rebuild specialist in Manchester and bears the correct "Blue" badge.

there are no issues with the louvres as they were all checked by the said spacialist.

all ancillaries were restored to a high standard and all work as they should.

The Thrupp & Maberly ash framed body was stripped to bare metal and etch coated before several coats of Masons black and Bentley Blue were applied. as were the 20" rudge whitworth wheels.

She has received a complete new wiring loom and all electrical parts are either new or original restored items. cleverly David has fitted direction marker lights to the divers helmet lights as not to detract from the Vintage look but still give other road users an idea where she is heading next.

She is fitted with Bosch headlights and a fabulous dipping system.

even the headlamp lenses are correct.

she has held on to her original black leather upholstery it having been sound enough to retain after re connolisation. /strong>

Her headlining is new and was fitted by leaders in this field.

she also comes with bespoke leather bound wilton wollen carpets.

Rear Mahogany vanity units are a delightful original item that is now illuminated and holds a set of crystal Champagne flutes bearing the Bentley "B"

to the rear of her gorgeus body over the fuel tank is fitted a tool carrier which includes period Oil can Lamp and tools.

All inall she is a fantastic motor car for the genuine Bentley enthusiast.

be aware that this is a Very Very rare Automobile indeed being one of only 50 of this model ever made and approximately only 25 known to exist and maybe 10 of these in original form.

This Model of Bentley was not. nbsp;as some less enlightened so called Bentley enthusiasts will have you beleive was the downfall of W. O. granted she wasnt a nippy sports car to compete with the 20/25 that Rolls Royce had produced but with the onset of the "crash" from 1929 what ever W. O produced was destined to fail due to lack of funding.

This Model produces more power than the 4-1/2 Litre cars at 120 BHP and is more reliable. the patented Ricardo cylinder head was ahead of its time (no pun intended) and was enginered so well that even now some 90 or so years later cannot be tuned any more.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to purchase a wonderful piece of English History.
