For those who aren't totally steeped in BMW lore. the Alpina name might be a bit of a mystery. But it's a pretty simple one to clear up: Alpina is to BMW what AMG used to be to Mercedes-Benz: an independent racing and tuning shop that has factory approval. (AMG is now wholly owned by Mercedes. however. ) Alpina. for instance. co-developed the fabulous 3. 0 CSL coupe with BMW in the early 1970s and is formally recognized as an automobile manufacturer by the German federal agency.

Alpina takes the 750 BMWs. and thoroughly massages them. The 4. 4-liter V-8 engine gets bigger turbochargers. reinforced cylinder heads. high-performance pistons. and Alpina software. The maximum boost pressure is raised to 14. 5 psi. which helps to lift output from 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque to 500 and 516. respectively. These numbers are identical to those of the old B7's supercharged engine. but the torque is generated at 3000 rpm. 1250 revs lower. To cope with the extra heat generated by its upgrades. Alpina fits an additional radiator and engine-oil cooler. an external transmission-oil cooler. a higher-performing fan. and larger-capacity intercoolers with larger-diameter water lines.

Having tested the Alpinas. it can be reported that they are way sportier than a 750i or 750Li. The engine unleashes waves of torque all the way up the rev range but is quiet and unobtrusive unless you bury your foot to the firewall. when it makes a stirring. gruff growl. BMW claims 0 to 60 mph takes 4. 5 seconds. The EPA estimates 14 mpg in the city and 21 on the highway.

What about shipping?

You are more than welcome to pick the car up yourself or arrange your own shipping. but if you don't know anything about it and need help I will be glad to arrange the shipping.

Shipping in the continental US is about $700. 00- $850. 00 from coast to coast. similar prices from Florida to N. Y. If you are somewhere in between use common sense and figure it out. or email me and I can give you quote by the next day. Shipping would be paid COD.

The shipping to Europe from Florida would cost about$ 800. 00 (Ro-Ro)

Enclosed Container to Rotterdam. Antwerp or Bremenhaven $1100. 00. Spain. Portugal. France. Italy. Scandinavian states and England are about $1400. 00. Container is prepaid. Ro-Ro is paid when you get the car.

The shipping to Middle East. Australia. Japan and Africa is about $1500. 00 (RO-RO)

WE NOW SHIP TO NIGERIA FOR $1100. 00 AND RUSSIA FOR $980. 00 (RO-RO)

Islands in the Carrebean no more than $1600 - Bahamas. St Maarteen. St Thomas. USVI. BVI. ) With exception of DR and PR for less than $1. 00.

All shipping is paid once you get the car. So no cost out of pocket at all until you take delivery of the car. I don't have container info yet. but if interested let me know.

I would take care of all the necessary paperwork and bring the vehicle to the Jacksonville port to be shipped.
