1970 ROVER P5B COUPE

This car has been sympathetically restored over a 5 year period by the previous owner using new. second hand and old parts. It is in extremely good condition and used regularly on sunny day trips and taken to shows. The colour is dove grey. It has only had five previous owners from new and comes with an extensive history file.

MECHANICAL

Brakes - Reconditioned servo and brake callipers (stainless pistons). new master cylinder. discs. pads. shoes. rear wheel cylinders and brake pipes.

Front suspension/steering – all new bushes including anti roll bar and torsion bar. New shock absorbers. New wheel bearings. Reconditioned power steering box.

Rear suspension – All new bushes. New shock absorbers. Springs separated and shot blasted. New hub seals. Rear axle and brake plate stripped and re painted.

Fuel – New petrol pump. New sender unit. Tank steam cleaned. New fuel lines.

Stainless steel exhaust from the “Y” piece back.

Engine and gearbox – New Polyurethane crank seals. New sump gasket. New water pump. New cam shaft and followers. New valley gasket. Fitted with SD1 cylinder heads. valves re lapped (now able to be run on unleaded fuel). Fitted with later SD1 re conditioned carbs with K&N filters within the filter box. New distributer with electronic ignition. All hoses renewed. Reconditioned radiator. Reconditioned gearbox and new hoses to suit.

BODYWORK

New front and rear wings. New boot floor and inner wings. New front inner wings and front valance panel. New off side sill. 1x half door skin.

Full re-spray

New boot and door seals. New old stock rear screen rubber.

New old stock front and rear over riders. Bumpers are in good condition (condition 8/10 I'd say).

New trim clips and rear and front screen clips

New old stock radiator grill.

Underside of the car is in good solid condition.

INTERIOR

Cream interior. Seats re coloured. Rear centre arm rest re-covered. Repairs carried out to the rear seat bases. Head rests fitted.

Gearbox tunnel re-covered.

Complete new sound insulation including in the boot.

Woodwork re stained although a darker shade than the original.

There is a small cut in the drivers seat back. this is not really noticeable though.

New original carpets (not copies)

The head lining is in good condition. no sagging but has a small split (repaired) about an inch long which is hardly noticeable.

All the dials are working although the accuracy of the rev counter is debatable!! Even the clock merrily ticks away.

Matching rear new seat belts fitted. Front seat belts new old stock inertia type.

The question is why am I selling this lovely car?

I have only room for 2 cars. My passion is pre war Rovers. I already have a 14HP and someone has offered me a 12HP so sadly the P5B must go.

This car is advertised elsewhere and may be withdrawn from sale before the end of the auction.
