RARE original 1978 JAGUAR XJ6 Series 2 with incredible history!

Where will you find another reliable one owner. full service history classic car like this?

You might find a cheaper price. but you won't find a better luxury classic car - reliable enough to drive every day and tipped to be the "next big thing" in desirable classics to go up in value! 

I doubt that there is another one of these in Australia with a completely unbroken 39 year history - from purchase in 1978 until today this has been our pride and joy and always such a pleasure to drive. Serviced regularly (every 5. 00km) by the same JAGUAR specialists for the whole 39 years of its life - you just won't find another one like this! All these years (up until this year) it has been in daily use (mostly highway driving). but our age and limited means have caught up with us and we have to let our beloved "Red Rocket" find a new home.

The "Red Rocket" is so reliable. in recent years it has traveled safely on road trips to Adelaide in South Australia. up to North Queensland (Port Douglas) and many. many places in between. I would not hesitate to confidently drive it to anywhere in Australia!

We have also upgraded to Sovereign alloy wheels (lighter. so better fuel economy). professionally fitted remote keyless entry. working air-conditioning on modern gas (R134A. but will need gas topped-up because car has sat unused). This car has NEVER been in an accident and has its ORIGINAL PAINT! It only has one tiny bit of surface rust in the RHS rear wheel arch (no bigger than pinhead size) and this has not gotten any bigger in 20 years. All photos are real and recent. taken on Saturday 18. 03. 2017 (sorry it was a bit rainy on the weekend).

The car is not currently registered (we could not afford to anymore) and the registration plates are not included in the sale. It will not need much work to pass inspection. we are told it only needs the steering rack rubber gaiters replaced (about $50) and new front sway bar bushes (around $100 fitted). You will need to supply your own battery. It does not leak oil. use oil or blow any smoke. There is no overheating and the engine is quiet and purrs like a JAGUAR should. Also comes with an original JAGUAR workshop manual.

This is a genuine. reluctant sale by pensioners who can't afford to own two cars anymore. it is like losing a family member. but we hope it goes to someone who will love it as much as we have. Will consider driving the car to deliver to you (even interstate) if you cover cost of the permit. fuel and a cheap flight home. Or if you send a truck to collect. we will help with loading.
