Snippets: SYD232 was purchased as a 50th birthday gift for his wife Anita Joan Corben-Brown. Anita's maternal grandfather Major John Godson (1834/80) served in India with the Madras Staff Corps. 2nd in command. 4th Regiment. he returned home to the UK where he died as a result of the injuries he received during the campaign in Afghanistan. Anita & Arthur Brown married in 1933 & in January 1946 Arthur changed his name by deed poll to that of Corben-Brown. There is a record that in 1929. prior to their marriage Anita's profession was that of a singer on the cruise vessel Arcadian. After 16 years with the Corben-Browns SYD232 was acquired by John Slater who emigrated to America. he arranged for SYD232 to cross the ocean on the vessel “Madame Butterfly” (an opera penned by Giacomo Puccini in the late 1800s). where the car stayed for another 20years until it returned to the UK
