1964 Buick Riviera TV Show Movie prop STAR Car Custom Built Vinnie Jones Driven For Sale
This Riviera was custom built for Vinnie Jones character (Scales) for NBC Television show : The Cape(2011).   Vinnie Jones played Dominic Raoul / Scales ? A frightening criminal menace with a freakish skin condition that gives him the appearance of being covered with green and gold scales. His "scales" make him more resistant to damage. He was an enemy of the Cape. It was revealed in the episode "Scales" that he was at one time part of a circus sideshow due to his skin condition. This Riviera fits Vinnie Jones (Scales) like the perfect gangster car it is! This television featured Riviera is finished in a satin black paint job with an endless number of custom touches. The bumpers have been removed and the areas have been molded to make it a one-off custom. The headlights are mounted behind the custom grill and have a sinister look when they are on. kinda reminds me of Christine the Plymouth Fury movie car!

Very rare chance to own a piece of Hollywood television history with only one being built unlike many movie cars that their are doubles and triples.   This is a rare opportunity to have the only one!  Great collector piece or museum piece even a great option to shot up at a car show and have everyone take notice and stop and stare. This Riviera runs and drives great. just like it should because when you are filming it is very important that the vehicle is in top shape because the production company can?t afford for a vehicle not to start and run.   As if being featured in The Cape isn't enough. this car was also used in the filming of the Justin Timberlake movie In Time(2011).   It was portrayed as Justin's fathers car who died in the beginning of the script.   But. like many movies this part was edited out for the final cut.   In my opinion. this one of the coolest looking Rivieras on the street and it is a blast to drive! These days it is getting harder to find movie cars and even harder to find ones that are built well and drive great!  I should know I have owned quite a few and lately production companies are keeping them for themselves.   So here is a rare chance to own a Star Car  in great shape.

Vehicle condition: Paint is really nice. better than most movie car paint jobs. The interior is in great shape and shows really well. the dash as two cracks in it and is really the only thing that needs attention.   The wheels are American Racing Hopster Wheels that were first on another famous Riviera. the Crank. Riviera driven by Jason Statham. Because they used a few Rivieras in that movie. when they started this build they had an extra set of wheels that just brought the whole car together. The engine compartment is clean and neat housing a optional ?Wildcat 465 motor?. In the trunk is a fuel cell for safety requirements while filming. it would be easy to return it to a regular factory fuel tank. The trunk is rust free and in great shape. The car has a great stance and ride height. which when you see her coming at you just looks plain cool! This car is ready to go to a local car show and bring home the prize. if they aren't giving anything out it will at least be the center of attention and the topic of all the conversations.

Vehicle comes with a signed photo of Vinnie Jones as Scales along with a certificate of authenticity.

History: The Riviera continued with minimal trim changes for 1964 including the discontinuation of leather upholstery from the option list. differing mainly in substitution of the old Dynaflow-based Twin Turbine for the new three-speed Super Turbine 400. which was marketed as Turbo Hydra-Matic by other GM divisions. This was the first year that the Stylized "R" emblem was used on the Riviera. a trademark that would continue throughout the remainder of Riviera's 36-year production run. Under the hood. the 401 cu in (6. 6 l) was dropped as the standard power plant in favor of the previously optional 340 hp (254 kW) 425 cu in (7. 0 l) V8. A 'Super Wildcat' version was optionally available. with dual Carter AFB four-barrel carburetors. rated at 360 hp (268 kW). Total sales for the three model years was a respectable 112. 44. All in all. the Riviera was extremely well received and considered a great success. giving the Thunderbird its first real competition. The first-generation Riviera is considered a styling landmark. and is quite collectible today. The 1963-1965 Riviera met with approval from all quarters. and has since earned Milestone status from the Milestone Car Society. Jaguar founder and designer Sir William Lyons said that Mitchell had done "a very wonderful job. and Sergio Pininfarina declared it "one of the most beautiful American cars ever built; it has marked a very impressive return to simplicity of American car design. " At its debut at the Paris Auto Show. Raymond Loewy said the Riviera was the handsomest American production car?apart from his own Studebaker Avanti. that is. the Riviera's only real competition for 1963. From 1964 to 1966 a larger 425 cubic-inch Wildcat V8 was also available. producing either 340 hp (254 kW) with a factory four-barrel carburetor or 360 hp (268 kW) with "dual quads" (two four-barrel carburetors). Also beginning in 1964. a three-speed manual transmission with column shift became standard equipment on all Wildcats. with either the four-speed manual (1963-65 only) or three-speed automatic Super Turbine 400 transmissions as options. Interestingly. engine names referred to engine torque output rather than engine displacement. The "Wildcat 445" was a 401 CID V8 that produced a peak torque rating of 445 ft·lbf (603 N·m). while the "Wildcat 465" was a 425 CID V8 that produced 465 ft·lbf (630 N·m) of torque. -wikipedia
