welcome to my very very reluctant sale.
vw 1965 notchback "s" lhd. originally imported from sweden in 1975 and now has 9 former keepers but still with only 50 odd thousand km's on the clock. tax is free and mot'd until late feb 2014.
The car was restored about ten years ago to a very high standard in its rare velvet green and fully wax oiled in all the nooks and crannies. it then swapped hands and was taken to another level. with lots of rare chrome accessories some of which are still on the car now and had the great interior worked on by bernard newbury. it was then excepted into the famous german folks club and also featured in volksworld magazine april 2003. (can send scanned pages on request - it also managed an aircooled top ten at vw action this year)
I bought the car in jan this year as a non runner and looking a little sorry for its self and slowly brought it back up to the condition you see it now with a good interior scrub. machine body polish and had it fully service inc new plugs. leads. electronic ignition. cap. rotor. fuel pump. engine bay fuel line etc and a few other bits and pieces to get her running and driving inc an MOT. i also fitted a set of 15 inch beetle smoothies with new hub caps and beauty rings . it then managed an aircooled top ten (2nd) at vw action this year :-D
As you can see from the pics she is looking lurrvly but has got a couple of bits that will eventually need some attention. the near side front wing has some small rust bubbles near the side repeater end and will need to be replaced at some stage in the future. the passenger bottom door hinge is a little stiff and the standard exhaust is thinning and blowing out of little holes from the box. the heater boxes are fine though and heat the car well other than that the car is great but would still advise viewing the car before making any offers.
The engine i believe to be a 1600 unleaded which is very reliable - i use it as a daily driver (around 40 miles per day) and cruises well with its taller 4th gear on motor ways. its lower than it looks too and will bang and crash if you don't take your time over speed humps and avoid pot holes!
cash on collection.

Dear
I’m the current owner of this notch, do you still have those scanned pages from the volksworld issue?
I would like to see them.
With kind regards
Xavier

This is absolutely the nicest VW (or any car) I have ever seen...however I live in the (western) USA - and have no idea what would be involved in shipping it here to Oregon.
Do you? I can afford the car, but am assuming not the cost of getting here.
Thanks for any info or assistance you may lend on that aspect.
Good luck.
Best regards,
JOHN
