Up for auction is my 1973 Datsun 240Z. I have owned the car for 7 years and have done all the work myself. as far as I know I'm the third owner and the car has been garage kept most of its life. the car sat for 10 years before I purchased it but it was well kept and in great shape. I will describe as much about the car as I can. please ask questions if I've missed something. the car runs and drives but is running rich at the moment due to the carburetors needing adjustment. and the car has been parked in my garage for a year.   to start out this car has no rust in the floor pans or wheel wells where it is most common. the spare tire well was removed and the original gas tank removed to run the exhaust out the back center. A 10 gallon fuel cell has been mounted in the hatch. however the gas gauge reads backwards. the only rust on the car is on a small dent on the passenger side below the door in the back(see pictures) I have a patch panel made for it. and there is some surface rust coming through the primer on the passenger side below the door by the front (see pictures). the entire car was sanded and primed about 3 years ago so it will need a good wet sand and primer recoat before painting (my suggestion). The side marker lights were removed and filled in as well as the fuel door and where the rear bumper met the sides. all of which can be reversed if your wanting to restore it back to original. there is an aircraft fueling cap on the rear hatch which was once functional with another fuel cell I had so there is a hole in the hatch but the cap is water tight.

The interior panels are all there with no cracks. the dash is NOT cracked. the entire interior has been painted a gloss white with brand new dark gray carpet throughout. including the headliner. all gauges work. tach works. nbsp;the speedometer cable broke but the gauge does work. the clock works but I have the fuse removed because it drained my battery when I parked it. I changed the green dash lights to orange. no radio. heater and blower motor work great. wipers work great. turn signals work good. rear defrost works. the seats are in great condition with no rips or tears. they have some paint overspray on them but I kept white seat covers on them which are included with the sale. the glove box is sealed shut. it popped open all the time. it also has a push button start switch.

The engine is an L24 out of another 73 240Z. the original L24 engine had a warped head so I swapped it with another L24 2 years ago. it was removed from the other car when I purchased it so I don't know the mileage it has on it.  it has a triple weber DCOE 40 setup with a cannon intake. petronix electronic ignition and coil. it is fitted with a dual exhaust header fed to a y-pipe connected to a glass pack muffler underneath which is connected with flex pipe all the way to the back. I hadn't got around to having it permanently welded but it works and doesn't leak. I replaced the plugs wires and cap about a year ago. the alternator is three years old. the brake and clutch master cylinders are new as well as the slave cylinder. radiator hoses were replaced when engine was swapped. transmission is the original 4 speed. I sprayed the engine bay with undercoating when I had the engine pulled out.

The wheels and tires are 2 years old and have barley any miles on the tires. the original suspension springs are in the back and the front ones have been replaced with coil overs.

The exterior of the car is sprayed with gray primer. the front end is fitted with an aftermarket air dam from Z parts source. front turn signals are mounted in the air dam. I just replaced both headlights. clear headlight covers are installed. rear tail lights were replaced with LED ones as well as the license plate light with LED (I don't have the original tail lights). I don't have the original bumpers. the wiring for the reverse lights are there I just never hooked any up.

I hope I covered everything. if I think of anything else I will edit and add it. this is a project that is 90% complete. paint it and drive it or tear it down and restore it. your choice.

Here is a list of extra parts that come with the car.
