Externally there are some minor blemishes. scratches and stone chips on the paint work. and some bubbling around the rear near side wheel arch. The 8 hole alloy wheels are tarnished in some areas.  The heater system works OK but the air-conditioning cooling system needs attention. There is a slight nick in the leather on the roll bar.  The power hood doesn't leak. /span> is in reasonable condition with the odd nick.  

The car comes with a Thatcham approved. factory fitted infrared remote control anti-theft/anti break-in alarm warning and immobiliser system & 2 spare keys

This is a beautiful car and you would understand as soon as you drive it what made it such a popular supercar of its day.   It was the first of the later R129 shape.   The build quality is outstanding and it pioneered many handling and safety features that we take for granted in modern cars. including inertia seatbelts. acceleration skid control. auto-engage roll bar. lamp failure alarm. ABS and airbags.  

The interior of the car is very clean. none of us are smokers. and also comes with:

·         4 speaker Radio CD player with auto antenna

·         Multi CD holder in centre console

·         Mercedes carpets for cockpit and boot

·         Memory adjustable front seats.   Each of the 3 memory buttons can pre-programme the seat position. head rest. seat belt. all the mirrors and the steering wheel to suit your driving position.

The V8 engine is effortless and smooth to drive and surprisingly frugal.   No one buys a 5-litre car for fuel economy but we were able to get 20-25mpg out of a tankful of fuel over a mix of town driving and longer runs.

The vehicle falls into the old road tax categories and this year will be £225/annum.   The car has been insured under a classic car comprehensive policy with a £5000 guaranteed value for £200/year.

It has been used regularly as a second car and has never let us down.   This included a fully laden journey to the Vendee in France and back.  

The car has been regularly serviced by our local Mercedes specialist. This has included the complete overhaul of hydraulic power hood mechanism.   Both major rams and at least 4 secondary rams have been recently reconditioned and refitted.  

The separate hard top with heated rear window is in excellent condition.
