This is a fuel injected FJ60. all parts used are Toyota parts. Parts from the Fj60 Land Cruiser and the Fj62 Land Cruiser were blended to make a much better performing FJ60 with fuel injection and the torque of the 2F.
What it Was: 1985 FJ60 Land Cruiser. one owner with 136K miles on an original 2F motor with the original H42 manual 4-speed transmission.
What it is: 1985 FJ60 Land Cruiser with a “2FE” fuel injected Toyota motor with less than 500 miles since the build. The motor now sits infront a rebuilt Toyota H55F manual 5-speed transmission. Giving this FJ60 an over drive gear.
This vehicle was just built and has only about 200 miles since the build. they were put on for testing and fine tuning and to verify accuracy and dependability.
What is a  "2FE" motor? It is the blending of the tested and proven Toyota 2F bottom end. the tested and proven top end of the Toyota 3FE. What you end up with is a stronger motor with better performance and you also get fuel injection. thus making this a fuel injected FJ60. that will perform better than a standard Fj60 2f. or standard FJ62/80 3FE.
Why the “2FE”?The stronger points of a 2F are in the bottom end. Longer stroke. longer rods. taller. more stable pistons. which adds to a stronger crank. The bottom end of a 3FE is somewhat weaker. To shorten the deck the geometries were changed. On top of the shorter strike it also has a much shorter rods and shorter pistons. The shorter rods means a greater maximum angle with respect to the centerline of the bore. and the shorter piston is less stable. Additionally. on a 3FE a portion of the skirt also drops below the bore. but it is slightly less in absolute in absolute amount. and significantly les in terms of proportional length than with the 3FE. since the 2F piston is much taller. The Strength of the 3FE is in the top end. The head has a tighter combustion chamber. the exhaust ports are bigger. the intake manifold and exhaust manifolds are both a more smooth flowing design than on the 2F. and then you also get a multiport fuel injection system. with all the engine management and fuel mixture benefits that come with it.

Compared to a 2F. a “2FE" will get one better fuel management and an engine more suited to higher revs with the improved intake and exhaust.

Compared to a 3FE. a “2FE” will give its owner more low end grunt because of the extra stroke length and a bottom end that is stronger and better able to handle revs in the 4000-5000 range.

What all this means for this FJ60?The “2FE” in a FJ60 will give it plenty of nice smooth power idle to each shift point. revs freely and smoothly. Easy starting which means no more pumping of the gas pedal and choke balancing to get the engine started. Cruising down the highway becomes much more effortless with immediate response when the gas pedal is squeezed down. And this particular Fj60 with the H55F 5-speed manual transmission that offers the overdrive gear makes highway cruising at 75 mph an ease and a lot more fuel efficient.

Like I said this is a fresh build. everything is in order and has been gone though.

Here is a partial list of what has been done:

3FE heads professionally decked and rebuilt. Rebuilt with oversized valve conversion for increased performance

Resurfaced head with . 020” decking for better compression

Rethreaded and installed oil pipe plug with upgraded version

Replaced freeze plugs

Brand new intake and exhaust valves. valve springs. valve seals. and valve locks

Cam and lifters resurfaced at Delta Camshaft in Tacoma. Washington

Injectors completely rebuilt. synchronized. and tested at RC Engineering in Torrance. California.

Block cleaned and painted

Block tested and showing good compression on every cylinder

New Clutch

Resurfaced and balanced flywheel

New Old Man Emu 2. 5” suspension kit with all the accessories to include grease-able bushings. shocks. steering dampener. hardware. and steel braided brake lines. The suspension kit is the deluxe version to help support extra weight.

New 17” FJ Cruiser wheels with 33” tires.

Rebuilt H55F manual transmission

New custom bumper. roof rack. and rear swing away ladder with tire rack. These are heavy duty built with 3/8" steel.

New stereo deck with AUX and USB hookup

I'm sure there is more that I am missing

Basically every part from the radiator to the tip of the tail pipe has been gone over and brought to spec.

A quick rundown of what was done:

First the vehicle was completely gutted. then the body was inspected. the body had minimal rust on the drivers side rear wheel well that was cut out and fixed besides that. the body was in great condition. it was then repainted the original desert tan just to refresh it from years of sun damage. After the body got back the build began.

The wiring harness. EFI. fuel tank and lines. mirrors. accessories switches. and engine components were taken from a running 1989 Toyota FJ62. the parts that needed rebuilding were sent out the rest was cleaned and tested to verify proper operation. A lot of parts were also bought new. All the seals and gaskets on the motor were replaced and then the rebuild H55 manual transmission was mated to the motor with the original rebuilt split case transfer case.

The FJ was given an Old Man Emu spring lift to fit the 17” wheels and 33” tires. All the custom bumper and rack work was done to make this vehicle a perfect expedition vehicle that can go anywhere.

This vehicle is set to cruise nicely as a daily driver and on long road trips on the highway. but then has the added benefit of being able to take you beyond where the road ends and to where memories begin.

Important to note. all this was done less than 500 miles ago so the engine still requires a couple hundred miles. break in period. just like any other new car one would buy. After +/- 400 miles the motor should be given an oil change and then she should be free to take any abuse you would like to give her.

I have included a plethora of pictures (video should be posted soon) please take your time to enjoy them and use them as your guide for condition. You will be able to see that the body is straight with no rust and everything is in great condition.

Again. this is a fresh build so everything is in working order. all the emissions equipment has been kept on the vehicle so that it can pass smog regulations if you need them. if you don't then you can choose to keep them or do with out them but this vehicle is being sold with it.

There have been a lot of questions regarding condition so I figured I might as well reiterate some things. This is a fresh build so everything is working including all the electrical options that were stock on the FJ60 as well as the options that were added on from later models. So everything from the rear intermittent wipers (never an option on a factory FJ60). rear washer. rear defrost. to the electric mirrors (never and option on a factory FJ60). front washers. radio. cd player. AUX. USB. FJ62 clock (not an option on a factory FJ60) even to the front headlight sprayers. all work.   Thanks and good luck!

By popular demand here are a couple more pics. This is a pic of the interior as it will be when sold. one of the pics earlier didn't show the clock and stereo in it.   Also. there are a couple pictures to show the condition of the frame and under side. I left the skid plates of so that you could see better. but as you can see the frame and underside are in great shape.   Enjoy!
