Morris Minor 1000 V8

A reluctant sale of my Morris Minor V8. 3. 5ltr.  5 speed manual gearbox. servo assisted disc brakes all round. Audi tt seats. monster tacho.

The car has undergone a complete rebuild. The existing chassis members have been replaced with 40x20 box section with outriggers. this was then welded to the body. it has a jaguar rear axle which has been narrowed to fit under the arches. the bulkhead was repositioned  and new steel inner wings fabricated. new steel wings were fitted and deseamed on the rear. a new chrome bumper has been fitted not black as in the picture. There are only 2 seats which are from an Audi TT and are heated but not connected. It has a new headlining and numerous items of new chrome throughout.

Front Suspension: MGB crossmember with chrome bumper springs. MGB lever-type shock absorbers. Modified MGB steering rack and column.
Rear Suspension: Jaguar independent rear suspension. Four Monroe (coilover) shock absorbers.
Brakes: (master) modified Land Rover Discovery pedal box and servo.
(front) MGB calipers. EBC drilled/slotted rotors.
(rear) Jaguar inboard mounted calipers and rotors.
Wheels/Tires: Performance 15x7 10-spoke aluminum wheels. Kumho PowerMax tires (195/60 front. 215/60 rear).
Instruments: Autogage Monster tachometer. Smiths oil pressure. voltmeter. and coolant temperature gauges.

Further to the above. I have received a large number of queries now (and over 2000 watchers!) so here is some further information which I hope will cover those and any others.

I have an engineering background and this is the third Morris Minor V8 I have modified - one of the previous conversions was featured in Street Machine magazine some years ago and the other was exported by the purchaser.

I built this vehicle for myself and did not intend to part with it.   Needless to say. as with all my work. it has been done with due diligence and no bodges!  I planned to continue to modify it over a longer period (supercharger etc).

I wanted the vehicle to retain as much originality in initial appearance as possible and feel I have succeeded in that aim.   It is a true character car. I never go anywhere without it attracting attention. and I have shown it a few times; I was also invited to show it at Beaulieu earlier this year.

It is a Cruiser. not a 'boy racer' car.   It represents an outlay which I will never recoup. however that is usually the case with these projects and I did not intend to sell.   However circumstances now dictate that I need to do so. although if it does not reach its reserve I will be keeping it with a clearer conscience (as far as the missus is concerned) and will have to sell her instead.  !
