Motorcycles & Vehicles > Classic Cars > MG             Concours winning in 2007. Matching numbers. British Motor Heritage Trust certification. I bought it 2009? and drove it a year. It went to Bob West for a routine  annual service. I felt it was using too much oil (MGA Twin Cam's are supposed to use one pint per 500 miles. ) He did a full service correcting all minor faults. He also removed the heads and did a cylinder leakage test which was fine but said there was some oil glazing due to incorrect mixture. He replaced carb needles and adjusted the carbs. He also said there was a lot of wear on second gear sync (which he couldn't do anything about of course) He then sent us on our way with the instructions to give it a good thrashing to remove the glaze with the advice that Twin Cams should be always driven in a spirited fashion. never pottered. We drove coast to coast and back over a fabulous weekend. In 2010 it was then put in a dry garage and abandoned (don't ask - personal reasons) Its not been touched since - engine not turned over. nothing etc etc. that's why I'm selling it sold a seen as a restoration project. I'm guessing batteries are goosed. tyres look ok. It needs a good owner to sort out. If it was me I'd put a five speed gearbox conversion in it. And that's it. Yes I know its crazy ( I love MG's. I always have at least one and still have my L Type ) but sometimes life throws things at you that means even beautiful concours MGA Twin Cams are just not important. The memories means I have no heart to get this going again.

Please do not bid if you cannot agree to this. Will ship anywhere at your costs/responsibility.

NB Deja Vu?? yes this is the one that was listed in July with 300 watchers. nine genuine bids. 3 good cash offers  and the whole lot scuppered by two people. I learnt a lot from that ebay auction. I'm friendly and honest to deal with - I had several viewings last time. none were disappointed and all got a cup of tea. and all put a bid in. After the auction was ruined I went on holiday for a month to decide whether to do ebay again and obviously here we are. Can I respectfully remind the very few minority out there - an auction is not rocket science. I want to sell this car and get paid for it. If you like the car and lets be honest. on the road at a dealers this would be £45. 00. and you want the car enough to place a bid. if you win you are legally obliged to pay that amount. If you want to view and ask questions. do it before the auction ands. not after. If you win and do not pay and I subsequently sell the car for less you are legally obliged to pay the difference - and I've a litigator brother who will do that for a good meal out!! Ebay does inform me of the winners name and address at the end of the auction.

NO BIDS FROM ZERO RATED BIDDERS ACCEPTED

To the MG lovers out there - I'm not really that bad tempered. I've a car that I have no future for and I would really like to sell it (a TD or TF is next for me and/or a new engine for a GT40). if you are interested please contact me and I will answer any questions. I am just an ordinary car lover with a car to sell and wonders why everybody cant behave in a normal and decent manner.

John
