Due to an ever expanding family. the day has finally come to sell my beloved GT6.

Born in 1970 (tax free). she has covered a tiny 69k miles (still driving so this will increase) and  been in my care for the last 7 years (always garaged). during which time I have spent a substantial amount of money having her sympathetically upgraded and maintained (£4440 worth of receipts that I can find. but I know there is more buried in the garage). I actually needed a classic car that I could rely on and use when required for commuting and  THL802H has never let me down. She starts well and runs well. I regularly commute the very short distance to work in the city or the odd meeting further afield. as well as the odd weekend run (post kids!) including happy cruising at 70mph on the motorway. Last owner informed me he undertook body off rebuild in the 1990s). Some history - DVLA history file showing matching engine and chassis numbers.

Please note this is a 43 year old car. so in the traditional manner here are the bad and good bits. including work done (that I can remember)

Good bits / work undertaken during my ownership:

Taxed and MOT until July 2014Complete new wiring loom - inc hazard switchRefurbed carbs inc uprated needlesTuned including valves / tappets clean and adjustNew high voltage alternator and bracketsNew HT leads and plugsNew HT ignition coilSpin on oil filter conversionUprated 400lb front springsRed Polybush all roundNew outriggersNew hornCustom milled alloy engine pulley (provides clearance to put electric fan behind rad)Electric fan and manual dash overrideReconditioned Radiator and new hosesRefurbished front brake callipers (rimmers) plus EBC padsNew rear brake cylinders and padsNew brake pipes all roundNew fuel pumpPheonix sports exhaust system 6-3-1Copper exhaust heat wrapAmerican walnut dashHalogen lights plus rally bulbs (you can actually see the road at night)Astrali leather steering wheelNew ignition unitUnder carriage stripped. rust proofed. epoxy coated and undersealed.

Bad bits:
42 years old. Paint looks ok and bits have been renewed to keep out the water over the years. but in my opinion a respray would be worth while in the future and various cosmetic bits inside whilst fine at present could be improved in the future. Body lines are ok. but passenger door alignment could be improved in my opinion. Alloys wheels - these are chrome and I have never seen another set like them. neither has anyone else I have ever asked. They are showing signs of age and could do with being refurbished in the future. (hence I'm not asking £7-8k plus)

Extras that will come with car if I get asking price. (mostly because I never got around to fitting them or they were bought as spares / to be fitted at a further stage of restoration):
New GAZ front shocksNew driver and passenger window glass (very rare)Spare rear hatch plus glassAlloy Overdrive gearbox. bell housing and angled speedo driveOverdrive propshaftSpare rear bumpersElectronic ignitionLots of other small stuff in boxes (oil cooler. rills. umper overidders etc)
To sum up. I believe I am being very realistic with the price. This is the most sought after model and there are very few left in existence. let alone for sale. Fully refurbished these are selling at £10k to £12k. when they come up. This car is a solid fun drive (totally water tight - I have been caught out in massive summer showers and she is always dry as a bone inside) with the scope for the next owner to add value and enjoy her at the same time. All inspections welcome (car in Cardiff).

I reserve the right to remove the listing as advertised locally as well. Any queries please email or call Matt - 07930 958262

I used to own a GT6+ in 1979. Wondering what it would would be like now.

Hi, I've seen your GT6 for sale recently. I was wondering if it was still avaliable or if this is an old ad. Apologies for asking if it has already been sold.
