Panther Lima MkI Automatic 

Panthers were always factory built cars and were never available as a kit. So production standards were always high using all new parts.

Manufactured in 1981 but not registered for the road until 1987.

 

These cars were factory built by Panther Westwinds in Surrey. They produced hundreds of cars and many different models. see Wikipedia. This car was kept in a Vauxhall dealers showroom for the first five years of its life.

 2. 3 litre Vauxhall engine and running gear.

Showing 45. 00 miles on the odometer which cannot be guaranteed but may well be genuine as cars like this were just summer fun cars.

Pair of Weber carbs.

Automatic Vauxhall gearbox.  Last owner was disabled hence an easy car to drive if you have limited mobility or just can't manage a manual car anymore.

 

Positives

MOT until 19th May 2014 and recently had a full service.

Starts first time.

Chrome wire wheels.

Tyres all very good.

Seats recently retrimmed in Black and Red leather.

 Full tonneau. A brand new hood will be supplied with this car.

Just had a full service. new battery and fuel pump.

 Steel chassis fully waxoiled.

Most panels are GRP so no rust worries. doors are MG Midget and are steel. Great fun to drive and gets lots of attention!

 

Negatives

 

The chrome bumpers are showing their age and could do with re-chroming.

The rev counter works but can stick a little so may not be that accurate.

There are some areas where the paint has split along the edge between the body and running boards. There is NO rust here as its all GRP.
