1937 MG SA Salmons Tickford 6 cylinder 2.3litre DHC for sale

For sale is my 1937 MG SA Salmons Tickford Drop Head Coupe. It has done less than 600 miles since being fully restored in 2012.
I had this car fully restored from the bare chassis up to concourse condition by the MG restorer. Peter Ratcliffe of Hull. The restoration took from January 2011 to July 2012. taking around 3000 man hours. A full photographic record was made by Peter Ratcliffe and was stored on a CD.
Brought back as near as possible. to its original 1937 specification. the car has a three position Tickford Hood. an opening windscreen. switchable petrol/oil gauge. trafficators. flashing indicators. twin trumpet horns. a 16 gallon long range fuel tank. Blockley Tyres. the 'Jack All' system. a spot light and a working clock.
This is a rare car with all matching numbers. the car still has its original 6 cylinder 2300cc engine which is fitted with twin SU Carburettors and when new was capable of 85mph with a cruising speed of 70mph.
Painted in two tone green. with beautiful individually crafted leather seats. quality carpets and an outstanding walnut veneer dashboard. the car is as near perfect as you can get. It is Taxed to July 2014
The odometer was zeroed at the end of the restoration and currently reads 564 miles. The engine was carefully run in and at around 500miles the oil was changed.
The Tickford is fitted with wind up windows and a double lined hood. When the hood is in the closed position. the car has the comfort of a saloon and can be used all year round.
There is a comprehensive Instruction Manual included in the sale.
The SVW Register records show that the rolling chassis SA 1833 with engine QPHG 2094 left the MG Factory on the 18th May 1937 and went to Salmons Tickford to have the body fitted. The car was finally registered AAJ 654 on the 9th July 1937.
A true British Classic Car which should be a good useable investment and a hedge against inflation.
In December 2010 I started a scrapbook type of record of the MG SA and the restoration and final use of AAJ 654. Although fairly amateurish the scrapbook is a personal history and is available with the car
After very much looking forward to owning this car for some years. it is reluctantly offered for sale.
Should you require any further information. please contact me on 0115 9312492 or 07970 285 668. I would be happy to talk to any genuinely interested party to discuss any aspect of this matter. I will consider any serious offers around the figure stated.
