Background to the car:
The Vehicle was converted by MG Specialists . ondon Road Garage . troud.
The conversion took place in December 1990.
It was purchased as a rolling shell and completely restored on this platform and the following carried out:
Bulk Head modified. ngine mount relocated. adiator moved forward to accommodate the new unit .
The tunnel was modified to allow the fitment of the five speed gearbox . xle uprated to 3. 9 ratio.
The engine used is an ex Rover SD1 V8 . WITH Electronic ignition twin 1. 75 “ SU Carburettors with swan neck inlet manifold as the factory car to keep original bonnet height. tubular headers . powder coated rocker covers and short stack ram pipes

So that was then” how is the car now !
So condition of the car I will be as critical as I can.
Very Good !
This is no doubt to the very little mileage covered in the last 22 years
The car has acquired more comfortable Half Leather Sports seats. walnut dashboard and additional auxiliary gauges .
Outer paneling:
In very good condition with no rust issues that deserve mentioning (wing seams good . ikewise “A” Pillars . ” slam panels . nner wing splash guards. Inner wings. boot floor.
All in excellent condition .
Floor pan /suspension pick up . pring hangars and jacking points . xcellent.
Paintwork :
The car has in my opinion seen some paintwork in the 22 years since its conversion . ut highly presentable she is carrying an excellent depth of shine . here are couple of small bubbles . ut really nothing that deserves mentioning .
Interior: in excellent condition . he seats in lovely condition likewise carpets . oor cards. ashboard and rollbar
Drive Train :
Engine
In excellent condition . no overheating problems and does not burn oil.
Gearbox:
One of the best 5 speed LT77 units I have driven!
Axle:
Quiet in operation with no slack or wind up”
Brakes:
Stop the car true and straight with just the right amount of bite!
Weather gear. /span>
The detachable pram frame is very good. /span>
The hood it's self is I would say is older than the conversion in 1990 and not in it's first flush of youth. he last two keepers did not use it as tended to use the car in dry condition and just carried the tonneau if caught out . have erected it and fitted to the car . as with lack of use they tend to need stretching again over the frame .
Brightwork:
In very good condition carrying just the right amount of patina .
Wire wheels :
In excellent condition also the splines and spinners.
Tyres :
Matched Firestone F560 165X14 AL-Round in excellent condition
Exhaust:
Excellent.
Electrical.
At the time of writing all major electrical components are working as per specification
Bar for the additional volt gauge which has not been wired in.
On the road:
Well legendary American Indy Car Racer. A. J. Foytt said there was no substitute for “cc” and it could not be more true in the MG'S transformation with the fitment of the V8! Weighing slightly less than the original 1800cc “B” unit it gives the car the sort of performance the “B” deserves along with the extra cc and 8 cylinders is the boost in bhp and torque . iving the car excellent turn of speed and acceleration . he torque giving you the ideal package for relaxed touring. he brakes are excellent along with the suspension giving the car good control through the twisty bits “
And finally the one thing that sums up this conversion ‘the sound !the legendary V8 rumble and almost addiction to open the throttle to hear the growl as the big V8 extends it lungs . onderful!
Overall Conclusion :
Avery attractive and highly presentable car
It may have been converted over 22 years ago but it still feels fresh. an excellent conversion with plenty of provenance . solid structure. ax exempt and in red with wires. it looks great!
If you are looking for something to blow the cobwebs out of your hair then look no further. t does exactly what it says on the tin V8 !!
Many Thanks for looking and all the very best of luck with your bid!
Regards
Dave
Please note: the cars I sell are “classic” cars and by nature and age are not of the reliability that is afforded to a modern car (apologies to the classic car enthusiasts for stating the obvious) but with all the best will in the world whilst I would love then to stay totally reliable. but being old (like myself! )They can breakdown and you should be aware of this. if you have any doubt about classic car ownership or any of these facts kindly refrain from placing a bid on the car.
The car is as usual being sold with “No” Reserve !
Please Remember You Bid to Buy Not to Haggle.
Please note. The description of the vehicle is from my eyes and my opinion. am only human ( I think” ) and could miss something that you might pick up so you are warmly encouraged to view and inspect the car prior to bidding yourself . I will do my utmost to accommodate you. But once the auction has finished and if you are the winning bidder. you will be expected to conclude the transaction after being given this opportunity to inspect before the auction concludes. Please do not hesitate to call on : 07970383375 to arrange a viewing.
If the winning bidder is not UK Mainland based. it would be possible to deliver the car to a embarkation destination of their choice. once payment is received and the appropriate delivery tariffs have been met. it would be up to the winning bidder to organise the necessary on-going transportation and paperwork.
Please note! With two previous bidders who have had successful bids on other classics I have sold and have been European mainland based. they did not complete the sale quoting. they did not realise the logistics for transportation to the European mainland
Please. Please. Please!
If you are based on the European Mainland and you are going to bid on the car. please make sure you have the means to transport to the European mainland. also please make sure before you bid. that if you intend to road use the vehicle it can be registered in your country.

If you require additional pictures. please do not hesitate to email.
Now for the boring bits. I only sell good quality classic cars and describe the cars as accurately as I can and sell with honesty and integrity (please read my feedback) I have had on now 15! Occasions (two in the last three listings! ) individuals being the successful bidders on cars and not fulfilling the auction terms (no contact after placing the winning bid ) so wasting my time and stopping a genuine person getting the car. nbsp;
I am also sad to say had an individual who decided after winning the car thinking he could try and force me to sell the car for less intimating placing negative feedback!
I would be grateful if you could call Me on: 07970383375 or email before you bid to confirm your intentions are bona fide .
Many thanks for your understanding.
Dave.

Comments and questions to the seller:
from Rick Cannam, dated 27 april 2018Hi Dave
I don't know how old this ad is, I converted this car back in the early nineties, I remember driving it to watch the Le Mans race, I am glad it's still on the road and it is looking good, quite a lot has been done since I owned it, it does look better with the standard bonnet on it, I fitted a MGC bonnet at the time, it did accelerate well with the 3.9 standard diff but would have been better with a mgc diff. Cheers Rick
