Description

In 1957 Daniel Gerboth purchased this 1958 Jaguar XK150 Convertible for his wife. It was her dream to own a Jaguar. She used the car on special occasions and Sunday drives. In 1978 she became ill and the car was stored inside the garage of their home in Brentwood California until it was discovered under the cover when the family home was sold in January. This original one owner California Jaguar has travelled only 20. 00 miles since it was given to Mrs. Gerboth. It is still on its original small California Pink slip showing it was first sold in 1958 to their family. Being a woman she opted to have an automatic transmission. Im told that there are less than 100 automatics in the XK150s made. This is a complete matching number XK150 with the Jaguar Heritage certificate. This car has never been damaged. there are no rust issues with the car. it is original and un restored with the acceptation of getting a repaint in the early 70s and the top replaced from black to white. The paint on the car is showing its age and should be repainted again it has some chips and some peeling near hood. doors and front corner of the fender . weather stripping is dry and in some spots just breaks apart when touched. all of the window frames still carries very nice chrome and no rust issues or peppering. we took some steel wool to the stainless and chrome and these items cleaned up excellent. all of the stainless had a green patina to it prior to cleaning. The car is complete of all of its trim. and badging. Factory wire wheels. The underside of the car is not rotted and there are no signs of any rust issues with the acceptation of the drive side bottom of the battery tray that has some minor spots. The interior is original. the red leather has never been dyed and is soft. dash has some warping to the leather. door panels are good. carpet also good. gauge cluster good and gauges are working. fan works horn works. steering wheel has some cracks. boot cover good. rear trunk good with spare. jack. grease fitting and complete original tools in a weathered leather case. Prior to storing the car in 1978 all fluids were evacuated. we had a complete service performed and this includes: removal of the gas tank. this was sent out and cleaned and relined. new fuel lines. New fuel pump. rebuilt of the original carbs. Radiator service and new thermostat. brake system service. Plugs. belts as needed as well as hoses. New dual six volt batteries. The car turned over first start blew out some smoke and then after idling for three minutes smoothed out and sounded great. the original exhaust system has some minimal rattling but the motor purrs. we also serviced the transmission. I took it for ride and she drove well. the tires are very dry so I did not stray to far from home in case there was a problem. When parked we noticed no leaking come from the trans . radiator or motor. This is a wonderful original un molested car. the wiring has not been cut. it is not rotted out . it is complete in running condition. For only $59. 00

Successful Bidder

Non-Paying Bidder

If the deposit is not received within 2 business days of the close of auction or if the balance is not paid in full within 5 days following the close of auction. we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle or sell the vehicle to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer.
