Current customer rating: (20 votes) based on
Offered for sale here is this extremely rare and beautiful 1932 Marmon model 8-125 Deluxe convertible with rumble seat and dual sidemounts. Only four examples of this model exist today. This 8-125 is equipped with a powerful straight eight engine producing 125HP conected to a 3 speed transmission with synchromesh in 2nd and 3rd. The 8-125 was described in "The Marmon Heritage" book by George and Stacy Hanley as having "GTO like acceleration combined with a wide track of 58. 5" front and rear. "The transmission operates smoothly. It can be shifted between 2nd and 3rd without the use of the clutch when "freewheeling" is selected. Dash board is equipped with speedometer. il pressure. voltage gauge. emperature and fuel- all in excellent working condition. Brakes are excellent. 14" drums at all 4 corners along with hydrolic adjustable shocks. Since purchasing the car 3 years ago. I've concentrated on the mechanicals from front to rear. Last year I had a complete engine overhaul with new babbiting of the crankshaft. new rings. new pistons (egge) as well as new valve guides and valves reground. Crankshaft and flywheel balanced. During the engine rebuild the radiator was rebuilt (new core). new clutch was fitted and the damper was rebuilt. Since purchase of the car I've spared no expense in making this a great touring car. A new wiring harness (Rhode Island Wiring) was installed this past October. The interior cabin has leather seats and door cards. The rumble seat is not leather and has an area where the stitching is starting to let go. About 8" long. See photos. There is no rust on the car but the laquer paint is beginning to peel away from the primer. All the glass is in good condition. Windows operate with ease. Canvas top is in excellent condition.
