Well i am selling this 1971 torino gt for a friend that is not computer savvy.   Let me start out by saying he has owned this car for nearly 30 years!  He has come to the realization that he will never be able to give it the happy home it deserves.   It arrived at my property on Saturday via rollback. I snapped a few pics as it was getting unloaded that you will see. The owner was quite emotional as it was being unloaded.   He helped to get it in my garage and then could not bare to see it in another barn. I cannot blame him as car guys we get very close to our cars and its very hard to give up on something that has been apart of your life for so long.   So that being said im giving you my best description on the barn find 71 Torino gt.   It was brought up from North Carolina in 1981. My friend then purchased it from his uncle some years later. It was originally a lighter yellow body color then painted black in the 90s. Let me say this Torino has one of the cleanest undercarriages i have seen in a long time. You can sure tell it was a southern state car compared to the ohio cars im used to. The car had some minor body work from what i can see but still retains all its original sheet metal. The motor was a 351 Cleveland  2barrel from the factory. was built in Atlanta ford plant. My friend rebuilt the motor which i dont believe is the original. in the late 90s and he says theres less than 200 miles on it. He also said it ran great when he parked it several years ago.   In my opinion the motor needs to either be checked out very well before it is re fired and the gas in the tank needs drained as this car has sat for `15 years idle. I checked the oil and it looks like it was just put in. Also in my opinion the car needs a going over as it has set so long. (BRAKES) but i dont believe it would take more than a few bucks and some time to get it up in going. I didnt have time to clean the outside or inside as i wanted everyone to see it is truly a barn find Ford. I did clean and wax one fender and it looked beautiful  and like glass. So im convinced the paint will be real nice. The interior is dirty to and it will also clean up nicely. Overall this is a very nice southern Torino GT that would not take much to get going and again i havent seen one this clean underneath in a long time. The rear end is a nine inch and i didnt check to see if it were a posi. The car rolls very easily. There are a few things wrong with this car i see. t has a very small steering wheel. he letter G is missing on the driver side molding. the driver door sticks(the handle needs lubed) some of the molding on the passenger side is missing. he bumpers are faded. the GT nose emblem needs to be put back on. but overall this is minor for a 46 year old muscle car. The glass is real nice. The car has a clear Ohio title ready for the next owner to give it the love it needs.
