G99 VBJ came into our possession in June 2010. We had previously owned two 2cv's in succession from the early 1990's and in retirement had again wanted the simplicity and open air freedom of this iconic model.  Written off in 1991.  G99 VBJ had been resurrected and used all through the next 19 years. clocking up some 57. 00 miles. We acquired her as a good running vehicle with MOT but fitted a new chassis. floor. sills. and electronic ignition. (This requires rebuilding the vehicle with body off. engine out. wheels and suspension and running gear dismantling. and refitting). Bodywork. where original is pretty good. There is some rust on the bumpers and wheels. but this is usual on a 2cv this age. unless it has been 'nut and bolt' restored. The front seat springing has been replaced with aftermarket webbing which makes for far superior comfort. We have enjoyed the car for nearly three years now. taking her to Burgundy in 2011 and turning quite a few French heads. but now we have decided we need more comfort and so reluctantly are letting her go.
