1983 Lotus Excel Sports Car

1983 Lotus Excel – British Classic Sport Coupe

A beautiful example of a classic British sports car.   The Excel replaced the Eclat model in 1983. incorporating a galvanized steel chassis. all fiberglass body and the transmission. differential. brakes and many other components from a Toyota Supra.   The Toyota components greatly improved the reliability of the Excel over the Eclat & Elite.   Lotus built the Excel for the UK market from 1983-1992. never exported the Excel to the USA and produced less than 50 units for sales into Europe.

This is an original UK car. built to UK specs (no power robbing emissions hardware or cat converter) and imported by me to the US in 2008.   Driven less than 3000 miles since imported.   Spotless under carriage. galvanized frame and running gear.   Not concourse level paint. but far better than a daily driver. with a few paint chips from normal use.   Drives & handles great.

VIN #SCC089912DHD11369.   Ebay did not accept this VIN in combination with a 1983 build date for a domestic UK vehicle.
