1986 Alfa Romeo Spider

This beautiful Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio recently won first place in its class at the Santa Fe Concorso in September 2016 and also participated in the Mountain Tour. This car has 87k miles. is in excellent mechanical condition and is ready to drive anywhere. Originally a California car. moved to Texas in 2012. this car has been well maintained and is driven regularly.   Absolutely no rust.  

Designed by Pininfarina and introduced in 1966. the iconic Spider was one of Alfa Romeo's most popular models. remaining in production until 1993 with minor cosmetic and mechanical revisions. The Series 3 Spider. this car being an example. was produced from 1983 to 1989. Offered in three trim levels in 1986 (Graduate. Veloce. and Quadrifoglio). this red car is the top of the line Quadrifoglio Verde (green four leaf clover). featuring factory air conditioning. power windows. upgraded wheels. removable hardtop. special Gray leather seats with red stitching. and red carpet in interior and trunk. Less than 10% of the Series 3 Spiders were Quadrifoglio models. offered in only three exterior colors: red. black. and silver.

Everything works as it should. including the factory air conditioning. Tires and soft top are excellent. Dash has one small crack between the left center vent and windshield and is wearing a carpet cover to help prevent any additional cracking.   Interior is in otherwise very good condition.   Seats are well preserved. retaining most of their original gray leather with red stitching; the driver seat bottom was recently re-upholstered in matching gray leather and red stitching.   Custom red/black coco mats finish off the interior.

Matching red Quad hardtop is included; top is in good condition. but has a tear in the headliner.   The car currently has a vintage Momo wood steering wheel installed. but I also have an original Alfa steering wheel which will go with the car as well.

Its most recent service was in August 2016. which consisted of its typical annual maintenance (oil/filter change. and brake/clutch fluid flush) plus preventive replacement of a driveshaft flex coupling which was starting to show some wear. Total cost of that service was just under $400. This was the only mechanical repair/maintenance cost I had on the car during 2016; its previous annual oil/brake/clutch fluid change was in 2015. The car has been maintained since 2012 by Robert Rodgers' Shadetree Enginetrics. a very highly regarded Italian car specialist in the Dallas area. It is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition throughout; I drove it from Dallas to Austin and back last month to attend a weekend car show. a 400+ mile round trip. without any problems.
