Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2) based on 293 votes

Offered for sale is a stunning. exceptionally original. numbers matching 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII BJ8 finished in aggressively striking Black with Colorado Red coves. accentuating the 3000's already gutty styling. "Big Healey's". as they're colloquially known. represent an increasingly rare segment in the classic car market: highly collectible with good appreciation potential. but with nice examples (such as this) still priced somewhat accessibly so that you can actually enjoy driving them. Which is a good thing. because they're far too fun to drive to relegate them to garages or trailers on the way to shows. This car is no exception. A wonderfully original. final production year. low original mileage. mechanically strong and numbers matching example. it will undoubtedly provide its next owner with countless enjoyable driving experiences while remaining an appreciating asset.

The car's finish is in excellent condition. deep. lustrous and marred only by exceedingly minor imperfections. none of which are significant to appear in any of the pictures. The body is completely straight without any dings or evidence of accident repair and the panel fit and gaps are exceptional. The car's brightwork is in great original condition. as is the glass and rubber. The knock-off wire wheels show only negligible wear and are wrapped in tires with plenty of remaining tread.  The car's soft top has been replaced in the correct material and fits tightly with a crystal clear rear window. The car's interior is equally clean. with seats. carpets and interior panels all in very good original condition.

The car is structurally solid and original in both the body and the undercarriage and the car is also in great shape mechanically. Starting without any hesitation or smoke. the numbers matching engine idles consistently and pulls with grin-inducing BJ8 force. The transmission shifts smoothly through each of its gears without any grinding or slipping and the ride quality is excellent. the car driving and braking straight with responsive handling. This comes as no surprise from what has clearly been a well-loved and cared for. low mileage example. It's a joy from behind the wheel. a visceral rush whether roaring through the canyons or bombing down the highway. and there's not a more fun car in this market segment to take on a warm summer evening cruise.

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a wonderful appreciating classic with all the right things going for it: final year of production. numbers matching. mechanically strong and gorgeous cosmetically with an impressive color combination. With values consistently and deservedly on the rise. this car deserves the consideration of any serious collector or weekend enthusiast. Please bid accordingly.

We've always had an appreciation for classic European cars and over the years have created an eclectic personal collection. We only buy cars that we'd personally be interested in owning and generally only sell them to make room for other acquisitions. That time has come for this Austin Healey (if the price is right. of course - this isn't a fire sale). We try to give accurate descriptions of the cars we're selling. but we're enthusiasts. not experts. and we encourage and are happy to help facilitate personal or professional inspections. But please do so before bidding. as the alternative harms our ability to make sales to other interested parties who have done their proper due diligence before bidding.

For U. S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction's end. the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction's end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of the auction's end. Buyer is responsible for shipping. however we'd be more that happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. The car is listed locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time should it sell prior to auction's end. Thanks for your interest.
