 This auction is for my classic ford escort mk2 rs2000. genuine rs2000 gcat chassis number. with matching engine number also. been dry stored since 1984. i purchsed the car around 3 years ago. I started a full restoration 18 months ago. leaving no stone unturned.

The body :
Complete strip. Front wings and front panel replaced with genuine ford items. 2 x 6" pieces of the wing rails replaced. bare steel (everywhere). door posts. engine bay. e. t. c. underside painted. engine bay. door posts. cill areas all treated with rust coat (to prevent any rust in the future) complete paint in zinc rich primer (the closest thing available to the original zinc primer ford used). Only 2 dents on the car. roof near the passenger front. tennis ball size. panel beat out. 2 pack primed and then flatted. again on the drivers quarter just behind the door there was a scrape. The whole car was then primed. flatted. and then painted. flatted off again. any imperfections where addressed. then painted again using 9 litres of top quality paint. Doors. boot and bonnet where all treated to the same.

The engine :-
As stated its the original unit. numbers match the chassis. stripped. still on standard bore in perfect order. block was chemically stripped. bores honed. new piston rings fiited. crank was checked for true. wear and any cracks. again all was perfect. new shells (big end and mains fitted). still on standard size. New waster and oil pumps fitted. all new core plugs. Head was stripped. chemically stripped. valves re-ground. seats re-cut. new seals fitted. Camshaft was replaced with a standard spec. best quality i could get which was bilstien. New alternator ready to be fitted. new engine mounts.

Running gear :-
Complete new brakes. from drums to calipers. shoes. pads. shoe fitting kits. pipes. master cylinder (genuine ate unit). Re-conditioned front suspension units. using ford inserts. brand new genuine rear shocks. single leaf rear springs re-furbished. New lower arms. anti roll bar bushes. e. t. c. Every single nut. bolt. washer. bearing. bush has been replaced on the running gear side of things as i wanted the car to drive as good as it could.

The interior :-
Front seats re-trimmed by aldridge trimmers. rear seat perfect. door cards as new originals. no speaker holes e. t. c

Wheels :-
all five are date stamped to match the year of the car. they still had original pirelli cn36 tyres fitted when i got the car. wheels where fully stripped. polished. painted to standard spec and color. new pirelli tyres fitted to all 5.

Lights :-
Rears where mint originally. fronts have all been replaced with brand new genuine items.

Jobs left to do. bottom end of the engine is fitted. needs the head put on. gearbox fitting. panels (doors. boot and bonnet) final line up. brakes bleeding. decals kit fitting. badges fitting and there will be other things that i cant think of right now. I have ALL the parts to finish. just not got the time !

Reason for sale. family commitments. and a new business venture means the car has stood untouched for the last 6 months. its a crying shame to see it and to say im pig sick writing this is an understatement.

Please please come and view the car. i cant explain how much time. effort and money has gone into this project. to do a classic car right and to this standard takes time. not just money. This car. im  sure will be a superb car for many many years to come once completed.

The hard part. no messers. day dreamers. no swaps. no anoraks saying " ford never painted the underside like that". i know what the car was like when it left the factory. i have done enough homework. i built the car to my standard. I will list this car only once. if i dont see it making what i think it should i will end the listing. Im not giving it away. its a very very hard thing to judge as i have not seen one for sale in this stage before i will let the bidders decide.
