1964 Triumph Spitfire 4, Mk1, Beautiful Restored Car, 12 Months MOT for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.05) based on 665 votes

We are selling this gorgeousTriumph Spitfire Mk1 (1964) on behalf of a customer. It has been in storage with us on and off for the last 6 years and sadly our customer has come to the conclusion that it is time to sell.

This Triumph was a 3 owner car up until 1976 when the last MOT was done before it was taken off the road. In 1996 the chassis was purchased by the current owners brother who had the car fully restored from a very sad and rusty state to the stunning car you see here. Most of the restoration work was carried out by Triumph specialist Robsport International and along with the full photographic record of its restoration is a file of receipts totalling many thousands of pounds spent as well as the original buff log book and old MOTs.

Although the car has been in storage many years it has occasionally been MOT'd taxed and used briefly. it was MOT'd and taxed in August last year so that the car may be used in a Clarks Shoes TV commercial for the Spring 2013 collection: http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=8jXc2k_akqI

Everytime we go to check on the car it starts and runs beautifully and MOT's are always a straight pass. On the road the car feels lively and planted. a real joy! There is no radio although there obviously was at one stage (the exhaust note is entertaining enough) and there are a few things that are unoriginal. the steering wheel is a modern sports type but suits the car. the number plates are a modern reflective type. the door mirrors are the later Leyland fittings. there is a rip in the drivers seat edge at the top. the door card tops are a bit wobbly and the paint in the B post interior would need refreshing and the Standard Triumph badge in the centre bonnet is upside down! It does come with a tin of paint! In the boot is a tonneau cover and it has a factory soft top and hard top. It is not perfect by any means but it would be a very good base for a show winning car.

It passed the MOT today with no advisories and it will be taxed at the beginning of next month. the car and paperwork can be inspected in Clapham SW9. When bidding please remember that this is an old car that has been idle for a long time and a fresh MOT is not a service and not a guarantee of its mechanical condition so if driving away expect the unexpected and bring an AA card! There is no reserve and a £100 start. we are sure it will find its value.

Payment in cash. bank transfer or cheque. obviously the car will be released on cleared funds. If needed. we can arrange for transport. please email for a quote.  Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
