Sport Leicht Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL in Astral Silver (DB-735G) with Blue Leather interior.  
This is a rare low mile original time capsule 450 SL with just 39. 70 original miles on the odometer. It comes with the original factory hard and soft top. In excellent high quality condition. the vehicle has virtually been in the same owner's hands since newly purchased in May of 1979.

Always garaged and kept out of weather and sun the car is beautiful and shows in excellent condition. The paint is largely original with proper depth thickness.  There does not appear to be any indication of accidents or bondo as the body panels all show factory even gaps and straight even lines.  There are a few minor imperfections to be expected on a vehicle of this age (such as a minor scratch here and there).  All the glass. rubber. brightwork and trim are in very nice preserved condition. There is absolutely NO RUST anywhere on the vehicle.  The 14 inch factory alloy non-chrome wheels do not have curb rash or damage.

It drives like Mercedes intended with a very tight suspension. no play in the steering and tracks incredibly smooth and straight down the road. This is not your ordinary loose and shaky 450SL with excess miles and typical vibrations you'd hear on a high mileage car.  You don't get the usual outside air blowing in through the window rubber seals and cracks.  The transmission shifts accurately and smooth through the gears.  The motor starts right up and idles steady.  It drives with full power top to bottom on this strong-young motor.  Mechanical repairs/service just completed including:  new plugs and wires. AC/Heat servo replaced and valve cover gaskets replaced.  
The blue leather interior is in stunning like new original condition with no sagging on the seats. separation of seams or leather fade.  The carpet shows very nice. wood is in beautiful condition and the dashboard is all original free of cracks. fading or damage. The instrument cluster gauges all work as they should.  The needles still have orange/red color.  All power windows. electric switches and lights are in working order. It comes with the original factory Becker AM/FM radio that still operates. The trunk has the original spare and tool roll kit.  The soft top is original and Navy Blue in color - without any cracks. nbsp;rips. tears or foggy/dirty windows.  It is amazing how well preserved the original soft top is and the compartment where it is stored is extremely tidy and neat. free of any moisture or dirt.  
All original books and manuals are present and accounted for including the original delivery date and matching numbers data card.  Huff key and valet key included for the central locking system.  Recent service records.
