1979 MGB ROADSTER FINISHED IN VERMILLION RED. its actually ORANGE.
The previous owner had the car for twenty years.
This is really a super little car. I have had my fair share of MGB's and this is. bar none. the best I have driven. The rubber bumper B's are given a hard time due to their bumpers; which look great against the bright orange coachwork. these B's (baring the V8) drive by far the best throughout the eighteen years of production.
I have recently spent a small fortune in making this car drive as it should. if not better. I have replaced all of the suspension with new. Using V8 wishbone bushes as well as lowered front springs to return back to chrome bumper height. for the front. as well as reconditioned front shocks. I have fitted Spax on the rear. with lowering blocks. I have used new bolts throughout. again with new bushed all round.
I have fitted a plethora of new gaskets and oil seals. I have fitted all new wheel bearings. Front pads have been fitted. as well as rear shoes and wheel cylinders. a new handbrake cable has been fitted also.
"GVL" has lovely wire wheels shod with new 165/80/14. which are the correct modern equivalent to the originals. The car reacts remarkably well with these now fitted.
The bodywork has superb lustre. and in this colour really suits the rubber bumper vehicle. The bodywork was done to a high standard a few years ago. but subsequently has some marks now due to the car being driven. There are some small chips to the door edges. as well as some car park dents. overall the B is lovely. It would hold its own next to a freshly repainted car.
It might not be to everyone's taste. but I had half a set of MGB LE GT decals lying around. so I have used them in an artistic way to give the car some character. I think they sort of suit the car even though not strictly kosher.
"GVL" benefits from a black mohair hood. as well as completely refurbished seats. The navy blue cloth seats have just had all perishable parts replaced with new. Sometimes leather isn't nice to sit on when the car has been out in the sun for a few hours. The seats are fantastically comfortable and supporting. The rest of the interior is rather smart and genuinely a nice place to be.
The engine is a superb runner. I have just taken it to a local classic car magician who worked on these when they were new. A few adjustments hear and there. and it really does pull like a train. The overdrive works just as it should.
There are countless other little jobs that I have done to make it just a little bit better.
This is not a totally restored car. It is a car that you can get in and just drive. it does have little quirks and it certainly is not a new car!

I urge you to come and see the car and take it out for a test drive just to see how nicely it performs.
Many thanks for looking and please. please do not miss out on what is a fantastic little car.
It even has tax!
