The world of classic 4x4s is a pretty new one. and so it's rare to find an award-winner like this. With a well-documented full frame-off restoration. this 1967 Chevrolet K10 is a stunner from its numbers-matching small block V8. to its new oak in the truck bed.


We know exactly why this truck was chosen to be a shining star. From all the documentation we have. you can tell this 4x4 was someone's baby. So while we all know a pickup's intended purpose is to be our best buddy for work and play. you're looking at one of the few that averaged a light 1. 00 miles annually as it reaches the half-century mark. But more than just great care. 1967 was the first year for this generation of Chevy trucks. The design carried more flair in the sheetmetal. and in early years. you had the very modern-looking single bar body-colored grille. That's very important here. because when you invest in an exceptional level of burgundy. you want to show it off as much as possible. In fact. while a 4x4 is built for toughness. this one shows its elegant side with the deep red rolling evenly off of every panel when the sunshine hits it. On a truck like this. only the best brightwork will do. So in-between the mirror-like chrome bumpers is slender angular trim. and bright 16-inch Pro Comp alloys. Plus. the new oak wood in the bed has that final touch of sophistication that few pickups ever achieve. It gives this truck an overall level of presentation that lets us know exactly why it's a two-time award winner at the Antique Automobile Club of America's Lake Erie regional meet.


When you open the door. you instantly know there was plenty left in the restoration budget for the interior. The gray seats with comfortable black cloth inserts for the driver and passenger look great. and it coordinates with the door panels and carpeting for a nice uniform appearance. You'll slip behind the factory wheel. and quickly you'll notice just how correct and pristine everything is. The dash has been painted to match the exterior. and the full gauge package is housed in an unmarked stock panel. It has all the right factory elements from the heat/defrost controls. right down to the decal explaining the 4x4 locking hubs operation.


With a truck that has been so well presented this far. you'll love how even the engine bay meets the high standards set by the interior and exterior. The 283 cubic-inch V8 is the original to the truck. and it was rebuilt and painted during the restoration. So. that bold Chevy orange block looks like its radiating power as it catches your eye in the dark engine bay. And more than just the motor looks like it has been taken back to day one. Make sure to look at the undercharge photos where you can see how clean everything really is heck. we bet the shine on the stainless dual exhaust is better than some other's chrome! While this Chevy has likely never seen a day in the mud since its restoration. it still is up to the task. The three-speed manual transmission gives you complete control of the V8; the two-speed transfer case is beefy enough for true 4x4 duty; and the lifted suspension and Cooper Discovery tires are ready to take on the rough stuff.
