VW camper van type 2 bay window day/surf bus

 A stunning and very Rare twin sliding doors. right hand drive VW Type 2 bay window panel van in very good condition.

The van has the benefit of a 2 litre engine with twin Solex carbs that has just had a gearbox rebuild including new bearings. bushes and linkages and a brand new clutch. the engine has been set up and tuned by a local VW garage with years of experience with Bays. It now pulls like a train and will cruise at 70mph on the motorway with ease. the gearbox is as tight as a VW box will ever get and selects the gears easily.

The inside has 2 buddy seats with storage underneath and a full width rock & roll bed which has hardly been used and is very clean. The roof has been panelled in ply and painted white and the doors and sides have been clad in a white composite aluminium which is very clean and fresh looking. Great for a day van or surf bus or camping trips away. The cockpit is very clean and the door cards are in the same Aluminium material as the back. The seats are original and very comfortable with no rips or tears. There is a face off CD player and speakers in the front and back.

The exterior of the van is in excellent condition and benefits from a lot of new panels. there is no rust or filler patches anywhere and the vans wheel arches are very solid. It has had a recent re-spray by the previous owner and is generally very good. there are a few chips in the paint and the paint is peeling on the front seam and boot just from bad preparation (pictured)  but this is hardly noticeable. I have spoken to a couple of local paint shops and they have quoted me around £500 to get all the chips and peeling paint sorted and tidy up the paint on inside sliding doors as there is a bit of overspray and old paint showing through. a flat and polish which will then make the van truly stunning. There are a few rust spots coming through on the bumpers but again this is nothing major and is to be expected with a van of this age. unfortunately I can't keep it garaged.

The underneath of the van is extremely solid with no welding required or rot. the VW garage that worked on the van were amazed at how good she was.

I bought the van to promote my traditional signwriting business but unfortunately its not worked out to be practical and I'm truly gutted to sell her but have a T5 as well and can't keep both.

The rubbers on the doors could be changed as there is some overspray on them and are a bit tired looking but again this is being fussy and is hardly noticeable and they do not leak or hamper the operation of the doors.

This is a great investment as Right hand drive Panel vans with twin sliders are very hard to find especially with the 2 litre engine and I have priced it taking into account the paintwork issues. Good luck and thanks for looking
