The long description:

Selling my recently restored 1966 21window Volkswagen bus.   I've been driving and heavily involved in Vw busses since 1993.   This bus was a 2 year labor of love for me.   I purchased it around 1998 in Portland Or. and had it in dry or covered storage since.   It was delivered to Portland originally.

It's been taken down to metal. any rust cut out and repaired with Gerson quality metal and the front and rear floors are the new Wolfsburg West Grey floors.

This was a dolly restoration. completely disassembled and taken down to a bare shell and media blasted/ painted.   Here is an overview of what was done.   Everything was gone through. so please email or call me if you have any specific questions.

Overview-

Front End: Completely disassembled. painted and rebuilt.   Spindles rebuilt by Nate at Wagenswest. stock sway bar. new tie rods. new center pin kit. new empi shocks.

Trans: Original big nut transmission with reduction boxes professionally rebuilt by Strictly Foreign in Grants Pass.   All new linkage and seals.   New clutch cable.

Body: Placed on a custom dolly and completely disassembled to the shell.   Any rust was cut out and replaced with quality Gerson repair panels.   Underside and frame areas media blasted and then urethane primed and painted in PPG Concept Sea Blue.   All panels were taken to metal by hand (not media blasted). urethane primed. K39 primer. blocked. sealed and painted PPG Concept Sea Blue and Cumulus White inside and out.   Every part of the bus was re-painted.   I added the older style slash bumpers instead of the 66-67 pointed bumpers. I liked how these flow with the wheel arches better.

Creative Engineering front safari's installed. new pop out frames and glass.   Original tinted roof windows.   Front door glass is original.

ALL new door and rubber seals - every seal in the bus is new and installed.   All small parts like. brake and clutch arms. bumper connectors. fresh air flap etc. have been media blasted and painted.   New front headlights. turn signals and brake lights. New polished aluminum bumper guards with rubber and outside deluxe trim.

One key for ignition and all door locks except the engine lid.   Engine lid has it's own key.   New roof rack and side step.

Gas tank cleaned and sealed.   Splash pan is now on. had it off in all of the photos.

Motor: Top end rebuilt 1600 dual port.   New: rod bearings. Mahale pistons. heads. fuel pump. vacuum advance distributer. carburetor. coil.   Original oil bath air filter.   New rear main seal and clutch/clutch plate. Heater tubes are in great condition and new muffler.

Brakes: All new metal and rubber lines. new master and wheel cylinders. new wheel springs and new brake shoes all around. All new.

Electrical:  12 volt. New wiring loom. all flasher relays new. new turn signal switch. Everything works: horn. wipers. turn signals and auto-return. headlights & brights. interior dome lights with LED's.   Brake lights. parking lights. radio. gas gauge. all dash lights. hazards flash and hazard knob lights up as well.   Clock does work. but I unhooked it since it's 6 volt and didn't use it. clock light is still working.   New starter and battery. new 75 amp alternator. New starter.

Interior: All seats were media blasted. primed with PPG urethane primer and the painted with PPG concept black.   All have new WW coconut hair pads. soft upholstery padding and then covered with TMI mesh grey/grey covers.   All panels are new TMI mesh grey/grey with chrome trim.   All door handles are new and chrome. headliner is new off-white perforated vinyl.   New THICK Wolfsburg West floor mats and rear carpet.

Doors. sides and above engine (below rear carpet) have sound proofing applied. New 3-ply stayfast canvas sunroof top and sunroof rebuilt.   Side and back kick panels on seats with new matching upholstery. New grab handles.   All dash gauge lights work.   Washer pump squirter works.   Original restored steering wheel.   All new rubber.

It came from the factory with aero balearic/sienna beige (71) interior. but I went with the grey/grey (83) interior that I liked better.

This bus is fun to drive and gets attention everywhere.   I just drove it for over 2 hours straight in town at the Grants Pass Back to the 50's cruise with no problems.   Big hit at the downtown show as well.   All doors close solid with no problems. Drives and stops straight.   Comes with an original owners manual. some original magazine ads and birth certificate from the VW factory verifying the colors and options.   New repo tool kit and the original jack.   Spare tire is connected to the original holder with a long bolt.   Normally it's turned the other way. but  I wanted the hubcap to show.

Please email or call me (541) 218-7255 if you have any questions. or if you would like to view the bus.   We are by the Merlin and Medford airports.   Serious buyers only please.   I work a 9-5 job. so evenings are best to call. or leave a message and I will call you back after 6pm Pacific time.

I can help with local loading with large auto transport trucks (drive to to a spot to load. do paperwork with the driver).   I use a side road next to the I-5 exit that is easy for a semi to get on and off. also easy to load. I've done this a couple times.   Clean Oregon title in my name in hand.   Over-seas buyers please arrange transport. I can only help load the bus in Grants Pass. not deliver to a port.

$500 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction end via pay pal.   Full payment due within 5 days through bank check or direct wire transfer.   I normally FedEx overnight the title once payment has been securely made and will then work with the transport company.
