1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible Driver Blue Description

Up for sale is a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass "S" Convertible with a 350 Rocket V8 Engine. dual exhaust. turbo 350 automatic transmission. power steering. power brakes. power top. We call it a driver. not a show car.   The car has plenty of power. The power top was replaced in 2007 and works great.   Car was originally bought in Connecticut in 1969 we bought it in 2009.   We did not buy it from the original owner and we are not aware of how many there are between us.   Car shows 93082 miles on it but that is only the odometer. the engine and transmission were both rebuilt in 2003 and we have not put on 2000 miles since we owned it.

The car is in great shape and attracts a lot of attention when we drive it. We purchased it in 2009 and it is about 98% restored and runs great.  We bought because the wife had plans to retire and then did not so it sits in a heated garage.   We have a paper trail of the car starting in 1998 when it was purchased in pieces and they started working on it.   They puttered with it until 2007 and it was sold to the person we purchased it from.   The person we purchased it from did most of the restoration and we have been finishing it up.   It was almost a frame off restoration.   I have pictures showing the restoration.

We have put money and time into the car and don't have to sell it.   We have a clean title in hand and are selling it "as is". no warranties. The car is registered and insured in Michigan.   I have included several pictures below and if you would like to see something specific just let me know. Again this is a driver. not a show car.

Vehicle Condition:

Engine and transmission were rebuilt in 2003 and car was painted in 2007. The motor is strong and has not had many miles (maybe 3000) put on it since being rebuilt. There are some minor small paint chips and a spot on the drivers door from when it was painted.  We had a certified mechanic go through the entire car and replaced or fixed; gas tank and sending unit. transmission pan. coil springs. rebuilt the carb.   We have some interior upholstery work done and just had the right rear brake drum. cylinder and shoes replaced.

The glass is good. side windows have some scratches.   Trim has some minor scratches and some dings.   The interior lights do not work nor do the windshield washers. New spare tire along with jack is included in the trunk.   New battery this spring.   Overall the car is in great shape and very little is required to finish.   The person before us did majority of the restoration as I mentioned and I have all of his paperwork on what he did and where the parts came from.   Most of the car was restored using original parts and if they couldn't be found then after market were used (very few).

Sold "as is". no warranties.   I am also listing it locally. if someone bids and I have a local offer I will let that bidder know.

Payment & Shipping:

A $500 deposit must be received within 48 hours of auction close. The balance is due within 7 days by a certified bank check. We will not release the car or title until it fully clears.   Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and insurance on the vehicle. If picked up in person. you must have plates for it along with insurance and you cannot drive it home with mine.

Is car still available?

from Frank Palestrini, dated 16 february 2021
In 1978, I sold a 1969 Cutlass S blue convertible with white interior in Westport, Connecticut. It looked exactly like the one you are selling but the hood was solid blue, no white stripes. Unless the dash was completely changed it would have small screw holes where the bracket for the 8 track player was hung. It was hung in the bottom center of the dash board in front of the console.
Do you know where in Connecticut it came from? I bought it the summer of 1971 in Doraville Georgia, outside Dunwoody, Ga.,suburbs of Atlanta. At the time, the original carburetor was replaced with a Holly four barrel. It did not have dual exhausts. Could it be the same car? If it is the same car, I would be interested in purchasing it.
