1948  Willys Jeepster.   After WW11 the Willys Jeep company had to produce a car and not a military vehicle. This is what they produced in a very limited production run of 10. 26 units made. This car has a 63 HP Jeep motor and gearbox but is only 2 wheel drive. It was a few hundred dollars more than a 1948 Ford or Chev at the time so they became second car to people who could afford one. The US army did buy some as parade vehicles for generals etc. They were also popular as courtesy cars for hotel chains such as the Hilton.   The exterior colour and interior colour are original for the era and made quite an impact on the younger set. These are the last phaetons made in the USA. This car has been fully restored in the late 80's.   It can be registered in Australia left hand drive. Concourse examples of these Jeepsters sell for 30-40K in the US.
