AC Cobra Pilgrim Sumo MK2.

A 2000 mile car which took a decade of professional labour to develop. A truly incredible one owner car with the most extensive history I have ever come across including an original newspaper feature!

This Pilgrim was professionally built over a ten year period by the Aberystwyth's CWRT Garage between 1989 and 1998. ten years of professional labour were invested to create what she is today. She has had no previous owners and Huw Morris. the owner of the CWRT Garage has kept her ever since finishing the last detail.

She has been incredibly looked after. she has done just 2000 genuine miles from new. has been MOT'd every year even though rarely used and when she hasn't been on the road she has been spoilt in a warm in a garage.

She has the most extensive history we have ever seen. read below:

I have every single letter sent/received between Pilgrim and myself when first choosing/purchasing the kit. the original receipts for the kit/extras purchase. and all documentation/correspondence from Pilgrim detailing our build progress and their advice. Order sheets and documents. All this is included.

I have the original Extras Tick Sheets/Order information and Receipt supplied by Pilgrim. This includes: The Kit itself (£2095. 00). it being in the chosen colour Bordeuox Red (£110). Galvanised Chassis (£130. 00). Pilgrim Windscreen (£315. 00). Scoop (£35. 00). Interior Trim (£85. 00). Carpets (£97. 00). Dash (£18. 00) and Delivery (£150. 00). Furthermore we chose to purchase extras including: Halibrand Replica Wheels (£760. 00). Replica Spinners (£60. 00). Replica Seats/Runners/Delivery (£300. 00). Old Style Stone Guards (£84. 00). I have all the original material sample sheets from when we chose the interior colour (ex370) and the fibreglass samples sent out by Pilgrim when we chose the body colour. Complete with original letters.

The build took the mechanics at our garage nearly ten years to complete! As we built her we slowly ticked off each job on the list. I have the original tick list's used and many photographs detailing the build.

I have every MOT from new. She has been MOT'd nearly every year even though rarely used! Between MOT's she has been stored in a warm garage (just 2000 genuine miles from new). I have kept all advisory notices. tax disc and SORN Notification.

I have the newspaper articles from 1990 which inspired me to buy a Pilgrim Sumo Kit I have the original build manual used. the original brochures supplied (for both the MK1 and MK2) and the original Pilgrim Sumo Calender sent out!.

I have the original pack supplied by the DVLA when registering her in 98'. She has her own registration and is not on a Q plate like so many kits.

When she was first built the local newspapers came into the garage to do an article on our build and she was in all the local papers the next day! I have the original framed newspaper clipping. see photo's!

I have all the original part catalogues used and so much more. Her history is extensive.

Tests

Been on the road since 1998. registered as a Pilgrim Sumo on her logbook from new and has her own registration rather than the give-away Q plate. None of the usual legislation problems. just drive away and enjoy.

MOT Tested until August 2014. No Advisories.

Fresh Road Tax. just purchased.

Running Gear

Perfect Cologne V6 2300cc engine. much smoother. more refined and fuel efficient then the 2 Litre Pinto alternative. Fantastic engine. starts first time. every time.

Twin-Exit Exhaust. rear mounted. our preference in design.

Underneath

Galvanised Chassis. built by Pilgrim and paid for as an added extra. Meaning no chassis corrosion and she is fantastic underneath.

Ford Cortina MK5 Running gear.

Perfect bodywork. no cracking whatsoever!!

Set in her original Bordeux Red Gel Coat. gleaming. She looks incredible!

PS: Please ignore the feedback left by 'DancingTom220588'. Dancing Tom was a fraudster who demanded £500 in cash or he would have me removed from Ebay which was accompanied by physical threats. The whole situation was crazy. My MG Midget was perfect. So perfect I offered him a full refund but he would not accept as he was a car dealer and had already sold the car on for an extra thousand pounds! I didn't pay him or give in to his threats so he left feedback. I have notified the Police :).
