The Jaguar E-Type was manufactured between 1961 and 1975 and its
combination of good looks. high performance and competitive pricing
established the marque as an icon of 1960's motoring. A great
success for Jaguar. more than 70. 00 E-Types were sold during its
lifespan. The Series I was introduced. initially for export only. br/>in March 1961 with the domestic market launch coming four months
later in July 1961. The cars at this time used the triple SU
carburetted. 3. 8 litre. six cylinder XK engine from the XK150S. The
first 300 cars built had flat floors and external bonnet latches
and are considered rare and more valuable. After that. the floors
were dished to provide more leg room. the twin hood latches moved
to inside the car and the 3. 8 litre engine increased to 4. 2 litres
in October 1964. The Series I½. although there was never a fixed
specification for this unofficial model. can be recognised by
glass-covered headlights (up to 1967). small 'mouth' opening at the
front. signal lights and tail-lights above bumpers and exhaust tips
under the number plate in the rear. Most aesthetically though. br/>these were the last cars to feature the sporty toggle switches on
the dashboard.

taken to Northern Ireland in 1991/2. It is believed that it
was fully restored in Denmark sometime just prior to this. for a Mr
Knudstorp Madsen. a director of the Jaguar Club of Denmark at the
Jaguar Centre. Roskile. In 2007 the car was purchased by Mr.
Neville Padfield of Pontyclun in Wales who almost immediately drove
down to Plymouth. boarded a ferry to Northern Spain to start a tour
of the country all the way to Benalmadena in Southern Spain where
he kept his yacht. He and his wife continued to Gibraltar where the
car was entered in the Historic Motoring Festival of Gibraltar and
then decided to leave the car in Southern Spain where it was
ideally suited to 'open top motoring'. Over the next three years
this owner enjoyed totally trouble free touring all over Spain. br/>attending classic car rallies and events. before selling the car in
2010 to a private collection based in Trevisso. Italy. It then
returned to the UK at the end of 2012 where it has been in storage
ever since. This numbers correct. righthand drive E-Type Jaguar is

expires in October 2013. the Jaguar heritage certificate. a file
