MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer one of the nicest Ford Mavericks you will ever find. This is definitely a case of a car being far more than the sum of its parts. It was meticulously restored with a body-off 12-month restoration and it shows! The underside is as clean as the top with new exhaust. suspension. driveshaft and rear disc brake conversion. complete with Traction-Lok rear end.

Dressed in blue and white exterior with red pinstripes. this Maverick is finished as a 1972 Ford Sprint tribute of the previous owner's first car. The paint has a basecoat pearl white finish with all painted stripes and high-quality. hand-sanded clearcoat finish. The car's glass panes and lights are all clear and crack-free.

The car rolls on BFGoodrich Radial T/As. 215/65R15 at all four corners and they surround Cragar Super Sport wheels. Tires and wheels are in fantastic condition; the wheels shine brightly in light. All of the car's body panels are straight and solid. the engine bay is extremely tidy. the trunk is in good shape and the bumpers are in very good order.

The previous owner started with a donor 1970 Maverick. that came from an 82-year-old gentleman in the Denver. Colorado area who kept the Ford garaged all of its life. In December 2002 he stripped the trim and windows out of the Maverick and removed its drivetrain. He painted the undercarriage and engine compartment black. In 2003. he started a complete teardown restoration. which he completed in 12 months.

The former owner acquired a low-mileage Lincoln Versailles donor. The Maverick's original engine was upgraded to the Versailles' 302 CID V-8 and enhanced with an Edelbrock Performer cam. lifters and carburetor. a Griffin radiator. MSD ignition in trunk. Ron Francis wiring and fuse block. fuse block and MSD easy access in toolbox in the trunk and a C4 three-speed automatic transmission with B&M Quick Shift floor shifter.

He removed the Versailles' nine-inch rear end. which bolted right into the Maverick's springs. shackles and all. and gave it rear disc brakes. He had a Detroit Locker installed. with 3. 75 gearing plus new rotors. calipers and an extra leaf added to the rear springs. The front spindles slid right into the Maverick as well giving it front disc brakes. The lower A-arms and the ball joints from a Lincoln Mark VI were exactly the same as the Maverick's. so he pressed and welded those in. The front sway bar was larger on the Versailles. so he transferred that. too.

There is a fuel cell in trunk. The cell uses the bottom half of the original fuel tank as its base. giving the illusion the original fuel tank is all there. The car has all new seals. bearings. bushings. all new stainless body bolts and screws and period correct Thrush Outsider side exhaust pipes.

The interior. done in a blue vinyl and plaid combination. came from a low-mileage Maverick donor car. The front buckets and rear bench seats are in very good condition. black carpet is in good order. the headliner and blue instrument panel both look very good. The speedometer. odometer and fuel gauge are inoperative. however. mounted atop the steering column is a Summit tachometer with ancillary water. oil and voltage gauges. The standard Ford two-spoke steering wheel. with both ends of the center horn pad slightly bent downward. is in good order. as are the door skins. the rally sideview mirrors and gear shifter. This car has no radio.

Competition to this Maverick in 1970 included AMC's Gremlin. Chevrolet's Vega and Mercury's Comet.

Documentation includes owner's outline of restoration and a few other. miscellaneous forms related to the vehicle.

This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis. Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 1. 32 miles. It is sold as is. where is. on a clean and clear. mileage-exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
