After WWII. the first fully new model to come out of MG was the MGA. it was the sensation from the Frankfort Motor Show in 1955 where this completely different style from the previous MG models was introduced.   From the very date of introduction. the MGA had a following that was very strong and today there are collectors that swear by their MGA's as being the best looking. best handling sports car of the 20th Century.   While the prices have been skyrocketing on many postwar foreign sports cars including the MGA. we are happy to tell you that this MGA has such a low reserve it might as well not have one.  

The MGA for sale here has received all the love that any MGA could ever expect.   The current owner has had the car about ten years.   During that time. the owner has sympathetically gone over the entire car both cosmetically and mechanically.   As you can see the interior is just beautiful.  

The paint job is exceptional and still looks very “fresh”.   The color is MG Glacier Blue.   The current owner preferred the painted wire knock off wheels.   Frankly. here at MissChiTown we are collectors and we think that the MG's look more authentic with the painted wire wheels then the chrome wire wheels.   Obviously. this is all a personal matter of taste.   It should be noted that the convertible top and the side curtains could be considered functional but to be at the level of the rest of the car should be refabricated.  

As most people will eventually ask “What is the price?” the owner has indicated that he does not have a buy it now price but he is anxious to sell the car and has asked us to talk personally with all interested collectors.   The reserve is extremely low (please don't ask) and somebody will be getting a wonderful car at a wonderful value at the beginning Sports Car season.

The private seller has owned this 1957 MGA for ten years and tells us that the restoration was completed in 2010.   The paint was taken down to bare metal and painted Glacier Blue (a MG color) and the interior is a correct style interior.   The paint still looks very fresh. take a look at the photos.

The 4-cylinder engine was rebuilt.  

4-speed manual transmission.

The private seller says that there are approximately 3. 00 miles since the restoration.  

The windshield wipers worked when the car was restored but are not currently working.  

Gauges are working.  

The car has a modernized oil filter.

See photos of side curtains and convertible top.   The current owner does not use them but thought a new owner may want to restore them.

The owner tells us that there is a very minor oil leak but the car does not use oil and has 60 pounds of pressure.  

The car has been upgraded to a 12-volt system.  

Today MGA collectors are a large and enthusiastic bunch that have made the MGA's very popular generically and because of the relatively low prices for great fun for a foreign. post war car.
