This is a beautiful car and. because you're looking. you probably already know it's styling is considered one of the most beautiful cars - ever.
It is one of only 276 examples BMW produced for that year.

Here are the highlights:
Originally a California car (the 'no rust' state).
Modified from original by transplanted later vintage EFI six cyl. engine w/mated 5 speed transmission.
Interior is beautiful navy blue.
Tool kit intact.
No rust to speak of- towers are unmolested. longitudes solid.

Runs and drives exquisitely.

This is a solid example of a wonderful. classic BMW.
Handles like a dream. and goes all day with plenty of smiles.
A head turner. certainly.

It has a modern power plant and the 5-speed manual transmission.
It's quite comfortable and has an impressive 'green house' view of the World outside as you pass by.

Classic cars are all about the experience ownership brings.
Sitting in the garage is the smallest part of that- tooling down the strasse. grocery getting. or a weekend away is what this one is about.
Carving a circuitous path through your favorite roads or find some new ones!

If you're a BMW enthusiast. you appreciate the E9 for its strategic place in the Roundel marque's history.
If you're a BMW 'purist'. this car isn't for you. [Thanks for looking. nothing to see here. ]

If you're looking for a 'show car'. this one can go to almost any event- in 'modified' class.
Win/Place/Show; half the fun is seeing all the beauties lined up together!
And this one is a standout.

Should your garage need something really special parked in it--- here's your chance.

Like any nearly 50 year old (car. plane or person) it needs a little tender care.
Here's a short list of some things which need attention:

• The paint is good. but not perfectly accomplished (some bubbling up from poor prep- but not terrible. )
It is about a 26 year old paint job. and just needs some touching up - or do it all over again.
*It was a color change- was originally silver.

• The body has 118K miles on it. Engine/Transmission; unknown mileage (but it runs STRONG. )

• Has a new exhaust system (can be seen in detail on the . pdf I can send you- see details below. )

• Upgraded sport suspension. DISC BRAKES.

• New interior including reupholstered seats. restored woodwork. new leather dash trim. restored door panels.

• Vintage Nardi steering wheel and cold AC.

*The rear windows are a bit 'wonky' for operation- but they're easily dealt with (usually a soggy control switch that just needs lubrication/cleaning. I haven't gotten around to it. )
Some folks convert the original window mechanism to modern solid state actuators. just so the power windows work reliably. Some articles in Roundel detail this.

*Driver's smuggler's box needs a slight adjustment to stay closed- easy to do.
I may even get to that before it gets delivered to the proud new owner. It's easy enough.

*Tool kit needs a bit of foam insert for the cushion. tsk. Look at photo- you'll see what I speak of.

*Spend a day with a basic tool kit and tighten down or adjust some stuff. as you get to know your new Classic.
That's half the fun of owning one!

Overall. it's a very presentable example and appreciated by just about anyone who sees it (lots of waves and thumbs up. )
Watch out though; passers by will whip out their point & shoots. grabbing photos of it!

All the BIG stuff is dealt with. and the motor/transmission modification makes this legend even more special.
For the person that wants to DRIVE their uber autobahn cruiser.

It is. after all. about that - now isn't it?

Looks as good underneath as it does on top- one of those vaunted "California" cars with 'no rust'.

Can show the car with short notice. PPI is perfectly okay to do (car is near Atlanta. GA. )
Have quite a few photos (taken yesterday) that I can share with prospective buyers (just ask. )
I can send a rather complete . pdf with lots more shots-- send me an email and it shall be done.

Open to near offers.

[Reason for sale? New additions to the collection leaves no room. this one needs a new home/owner. Simple as that. ]

Thanks for looking!
