Model History:

The Toyota Celica name has been applied to a series of coupes made by the Japanese company Toyota. The name is ultimately derived from the Latin word coelica meaning "heavenly" or "celestial". In Japan. the Celica was exclusive to Toyota Japanese dealerships ‘Toyota Corolla Store'.

Throughout its life span the Celica has been powered by various four-cylinder engines. The biggest model change occurred in August 1985 when the rear wheel drive train was changed to front drive. an all new sleeker body was designed and new 2. 0 L four-cylinder engines installed. The Celica was no longer built on the Toyota A platform. and instead realigned with the Toyota T platform. also underpinning the Toyota Corona. The Celica was available saloon and lift back coupes. as well as a convertible.

The GT shared the ST's 2S-E engine as well as the chassis designation being the ST161 with a 2S-E engine in 1986. quickly changing over to the ST162 with a 3S-FE engine in 1987 onwards. The GT also includes a front strut bar across the two strut towers as an upgrade over the ST trim. but retains the front ventilated disc and rear drum brake combination from the ST.

In 1987 Toyota introduced a highly desirable and limited number of T-Bar convertibles for the UK market. Numbers were restricted to 200 in right hand drive and approximately only 70 remain.

Let me give you a little bit of history about D303 EVC:

This Toyota Celica GT Cabriolet was supplied by Highfield Motors Toyota and first registered in March 1987. they then completed the running in service at 377 miles later that year.

The car has had 1 family owner from new and there is a letter from the registered keeper confirming name changes within the original family.

The service regime has always been maintained with a total of 9 stamps in the book. and there are 7 MOTs to further back up the low mileage. The car was MOT'd on the 26 April 2013 and passed with no advisories.

In addition to the original service book the car also comes with the original document holder. owner's manuals and a file with MOT certificates and tax disks. The key still has the original supplying dealer keyfob and there is a spare.

Recently. the car had a full service prior to sale. This included a new Cambelt kit fitted.

Needless to say the car runs beautifully and the engine is tight and taught as you would expect from a pampered Celica with only 32. 00 miles. Please. see the video.

It has an impeccable full Toyota Main Dealer service record (9 Services; on average a service every 3. 00 miles) to back up the mileage. so as you would expect it is in perfect mechanical order. Recent work carried out includes a cambelt change (including pulleys) together with an oil and filter change. At 32. 92 miles the car had a new clutch fitted. The twin cam 16 valve four cylinder engine produces wonderfully smooth performance and idles perfectly up to temperature. The 5 speed manual gearbox feels light and precise shifting through the gears.

Quite simply this Toyota is UNIQUE and must be one of if not the best example left. It has NEVER been restored. The only work I undertook was to have the wheels removed and sent away to be refurbished to original finish.

The car is fitted with 14" diamond cut and lacquered alloys. they are shod in matching new period Pirelli P600 tyres all round. The front and rear brakes are in perfect working condition. still feeling strong and pulling the car to a standstill quickly.

D303 EVC STILL LOOKS LIKE A NEW CAR !!!!!!!!

THE BODYWORK LOOKS LIKE IT DID THE DAY THE CAR WAS REGISTERED AS THE CAR WAS UNDERSEALED WHEN NEW SO THE UNDERNEATH STILL LOOKS NEW (YOU COULD EAT OFF THE SILLS !!!!!!!!)

This stunning Toyota is finished in ‘Super Red' with black detailing and matching black vinyl hood and T Bar. The hood has recently been bespoke remanufactured with painstaking attention to detail ensuring that the correct period material has been used and Toyota's stitching lines followed precisely using the original hood as a template. The result is superb and with a new Perspex windows the hood looks factory fresh.

The bodywork is truly amazing for a 26 year old car. The gleaming red paintwork looks almost unblemished and is free from any rust. dents or body damage. This car has been pampered by its 1 family owner having been kept in a heated garage and only brought out sparingly on warm sunny days. This is further endorsed when looking under the immaculate wheel arches and original rust free underside of this fabulous little Toyota.

The car still bares its original front and rear number plates showing the original supplying Main Dealer ‘Highfield Motors'.

THE INTERIOR IS amazing for a 26 year old car. The cabriolet's interior space is a lovely place to be especially with the roof down on a summer's day. The unmarked Recaro styled front seats show very little wear to bolsters or bases and still feel like new. and the rears look like they have never been sat in. The carpets are showing no wear throughout the car and the boot area remains free from any moisture. housing the Toyota tool kit. immaculate spare alloy wheel and rare tonneau cover.

This cherished Celica still carries the original Factory fitted Toyota Radio Cassette and due to its incredibly low mileage the leather bound steering wheel and gear lever show little. if any signs of wear. The car has never been smoked in and front and rear ashtrays are unused.

Please see the detailed photos.

THE ENGINE IS SILKY QUIET AND RUNS LIKE A LITTLE SEWING MACHINE

THE CAR DRIVES LIKE THE DAY IT CAME OUT OF TOYOTA`S SHOWROOM

I have the original Celica owners manuals and service book

I have the V5C

Whoever buys this car will be totally delighted as it's truly amazing. The car has had such a pampered life for the last 26 years!! It's a very special car and deserves a very special new home !!

The condition of my car is absolutely stunning. It is as close as you will find to as new condition. and is hard to believe that it is a 26 year old Toyota. There are no parking dents or scratches or rust anywhere on the body. This car really is a show stopper and draws admiring glances. and comments wherever it goes. "I haven't seen one of those for years. it's like new!" being the most frequent comment.

These are now becoming VERY RARE and as with many early Japanese cars very sought after both here and overseas.

Early Toyotas are generally rust buckets and often require full restorations. Parts are scarce and restored cars lose the originality and patina of a genuine unmolested. unrestored example.

Values of these scarce cars are going one way and pinnacle examples like mine are like finding hens teeth.

A very rare and unique car and A REAL INVESTMENT at £3. 95!!!!

I am happy to show the car to genuine serious enquiries
