By 1985 Chevrolet was building a special edition of the Camaro called the Z28 so that it could have a competitive player in what was then known “the performance wars”.   This is a battle that had escalated.   Here at MissChiTown. a marketing service for people who want to market their vehicles on eBay. we are also car collectors/aficionados and love to do research on some of the collector cars.   The 1985 Camaro Z28 certainly caught our interest and this is what we found out when it was compared to a Mustang in a Road Test.   The first thing that was noted was that the Camaro had excellent controllability that put it at a big advantage when compared to the Mustang.   This was exemplified by the Z's nearly neutral cornering. balance and ability to go from under steered to over steered on tight and winding roads.   It was also noted that the Z's brakes were far superior to the Ford brakes and stopped the car in very short distances.   Of course. this adds to the Z's ability to go through the twists and turns as you can enter the turns much faster when you can stop much faster.   The Z was also found to be much faster than the equivalent 1985 Mustang. The Camaro Z's engine was far more powerful than the Ford Mustang.   So now you are asking why we are telling you all of this?

The reason that we are telling you all of this is because the cars of the 1980s are just coming into their own in terms of collectability and the ones that were superior for good reason when they were new usually are the ones that the collectors hold in high regard.   With we are happy to be marketing in this eBay auction the private seller's 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z28.   Note that she is the original owner from new and has always had a second car so this car was not driven hard.    Certainly. this must be everybody's favorite color in black and gold!!!  The Z was repainted 5-6 years ago in the original color scheme.    The current odometer is reading is 42. 74.  

Again. one of the high points of this car is that the current owner of this car is the original owner.   It has been owned by this woman since it was brand new.   You can judge the condition of the car from the pictures.   The car even has air condition.    See video below for more photos.

The private seller has also noted the following:

The air conditioning is working.   The private seller is a lady who is the original owner who purchased this car brand new and says that she drives it around town all the time and on occasion will take it on a 200 mile round trip.   Note she has always had a second car so the Z28 was not overly used.   It always runs fine and goes down the road straight and stops fine.   The windows go up and down fine.   As best as she recalls the windshield wipers are working fine.   Power Steering and Power Brakes.   Tires are good.   The private seller says that the mileage on the odometer is the original mileage.   The air conditioning was redone about two years ago and the owner hasn't used it since and isn't sure if it needs a charge or not.  

Some of the other things she would like to mention is that the radio is not original.   The clasp for the driver's seatbelt needs to be replaced.   There is a plastic missing dome light cover.   There is also a small tear on the driver's seat and the glove compartment box.   This car is a very attractive driver but does a few chips and nicks.  

So. as we started out with our description of this car and telling you why it was a superior car for its time we are now of the opinion that the cars of the 80s are coming into their own.   It is the right time to get in on the ground floor before they appreciate and start to sky rocket in price where you might not be able to afford them.   Besides all that while the car is appreciating you are having all the enjoyment of driving it around to the local Saturday night drive in car shows and showing it off to neighbors and friends.

This beautiful car that is destined to go up in value has an extremely low reserve so you can bid to win and be happy you did.
