1996 MG RV8 Roadster, good condition, sounds superb, low miles MGRV8 MGR V8 MGB

Here we have one of my favourite cars of all time. the MG RV8. finished in Woodcote Green with Parchment leather interior.

This particular car. like most RV8's was originally exported to Japan. but returned some 18 months later via an MG Rover main dealer. and was then sold to its previous keeper. who maintained the car regularly with the main agent until MG Rovers untimely demise. Hence there is an excellent detailed history file with the car. showing it has been properly maintained and also showing the 49k miles to be genuine.

On the outside the bodywork is in good condition. with just one or two minor marks to show its age. but no evidence of any rust anywhere. The troublesome often rotten windscreen frame was replaced by the main dealer. so this is in excellent condition. the wheels have been refurbished. so are also very good. and the black mohair hood is well fitting with no damage or misting to the rear window. The are a couple of minor nicks to the roof. which have been very well repaired. and they are not immediately obvious when the roof is up. The tyres are all relatively new and in good condition. and there is also a stainless steel exhaust.

On the inside. this example is in much better condition than a lot of RV8s I have seen. The leather seats are excellent. the door cards are excellent. and the carpets are also excellent. The often flaky door caps have been re lacquered. and the dash veneer is not perfect but good. All the gauges and controls function as they should. there is a Clarion CD Radio and generally it is a very nice place to be.

Driving the RV8 is what it is all about! Once the key is turned and the 4. 0ltr Rover V8 fires into life. you will never tire of that noise. The car drives superbly. feeling essentially like a slightly more refined MGB with a massive motor! Engine and gearbox are very good. brakes being servo'd pull up very well and the ride is perfectly good. certainly better than most modern german roadsters. The car accelerates rapidly on a wave of torque and will. if provoked. light the rear tyres up with ease.

With MOT until April next year. the RV8 is ready to be enjoyed straight away. and must surely be a good investment as these rare V8 MG's are rapidly going up in value.

The RV8 is available to view night or day. seven days a week. in a dry well lit garage and viewing is strongly recommended!
