Controller: Curtis 1231C - Mounted to a component board w/heat sink. with an additional 2 fans mounted below it to support optimal operating temperatures in hot weather.    

Batteries:  9 Trojan T-1275's 12V Lead acid. flooded deep cycle Weight: 82lbs ea.  (108V total system voltage)

Drivetrain: Manual  clutchless  4 speed            

 Charger: Quick Charge Onboard charger -  Mounted below the component's board. automatic

 Range: 52 miles per charge (depending on your driving habits)                   

 Speed: 78MPH top speed. however. range is shortened at this speed. Acceleration: 0-30 in 3 seconds!        

 •Driving the electric Ghia requires that one understands and adjusts driving habits. maintaining a regular speed is helpful versus typical driving (speeding up and stopping often). "In second gear. the vehicle will accelerate very quickly from 0 to 40 MPH. From 40 MPH on. it will continue to accelerate nicely. but requires a gear shift to third gear at 50 MPH to prevent over speeding the motor. Third gear is used for driving over 50 MPH up to 70 MPH. At 70 MPH. shifted to fourth gear. the Ghia will continue to accelerate to the top speed (to date of 78 MPH). however. this type of driving will shorten the range considerably. "

Also. nbsp;I've kept the Ghia safely garaged over the years since it's rebirth as an electric vehicle and have enjoyed it since. It's been well maintained and as mentioned. has six new batteries.  Speaking of maintenance. no more oils changes with this one! Simply check connections and battery water levels monthly. along with a little dusting of the control boards. If properly maintained. the Trojan 1275 batteries can last 5 years. This is very affordable considering the cost of gasoline or lithium battery systems.
