We would like to start with the fact that the Kaiser Darrin was America's first fiberglass sports car (before the 1953 Corvette) being that the initial prototype came out in 1952.   Perhaps the fact that Dutch Darrin designed it. one of the most famous designers of classic cars from the 1930s through the 1950s.   This car will appeal to many serious collectors who appreciate its historical significance in addition to the great design.   We think that everybody can appreciate the unique features such as the sliding doors that disappear into the front fenders for ease in getting in and out of the car.   Also the three position convertible top was quite innovative.

Under 500 Kaiser Darrins were produced. only 435 were made in 1954.   So yes the limited number produced in addition to the fabulous design increases the demand and seem to appreciate the fastest.   We believe that a collector should buy a collector car that will be loved and enjoyed but when it also has tremendous potential to appreciate that is a ‘no brainer'.

The private seller has owned this car for many decades!

The frame off restoration was done in 1968.  

The interior. except for the seat cushions and carpets are original!

The top is also original.   Not a show top but its serviceable (private seller says he has only had it up 3-4 times in the last fifty years.

3-Speed Manual on the Floor with Overdrive!  Great for fast acceleration or high speed cruising.

All the chrome has been done over the years and it is still very nice except for a section of the rear bumper that has developed a blemish in one spot.  

The windshield and vent wings were replaced.

The car is a strong runner but will puff a bit of smoke when first started after sitting.

The private seller tells us that this is the “correct” color paint and interior.  

The odometer recently turned over 50. 00 miles.  

New tires were put on the car in Spring 2016

The photo shows the “travel” air cleaner and the correct air cleaner will go with the car.
