Here for sale (or PX for a classic automatic) is my 1970 TR6. it is an American re import in 1991 and was converted to RHD. It has been in storage since 1995. it was resprayed in the states early in its life from yellow to signal red and has 77k miles on it. I purchased it 18 months ago and as you can see from the pictures my attempt at restoration is not quite finished. work is still in progress.

I am selling as shortly will be going into hospital for major surgery on my shoulder and will not have the use of my right arm for 6 months. hence needing an automatic.

The car has had lots of new parts including brakes. exhaust. rear wings. seats. springs. hoses and hood plus many others.  I have all the original parts . There is a heritage certificate stating date of reg 4 Dec 1970 and V5 doc. (not in my name as I was waiting for the car to be MOTd then would register as tax exempt). It has lots of history also.

CONDITION:

Body wise it is very good as any corrosion has been removed and new metal fabricated and seam welded in place the rear wings were corroded where they attached to the B posts so new wings were purchased. It has had replacement front wings in the past which are still in very good condition. Any exposed internal areas were primed painted and wax oiled. The floor and sills inner wings etc very good original.  The rear bumper has minor blemishes in the chrome but is presentable. the front bumper needs re chroming (currently painted silver hence not fitted).

CHASSIS has had repairs/ strengthener plates fitted. not the neatest of jobs but appear very strong. I purchased a RECONDITIONED CHASSIS a while back with a view to removing the body and making the car concourse however this will not happen now but the chassis can be purchased separately if required.

The car was resprayed last year in cellulose signal red. this is where the restoration floundered as although the car looks very good and is very presentable. on the rear deck area where the rear wings attach there is shrinkage in the undercoat and slight crazing is apparent. there are also some imperfections on the doors bonnet and boot especially when viewed under the garage strip lights. I stopped the restoration at this point as was going to get it professionally resprayed however now do not have the time so am re assembling and hoping someone else will either have the use of the car as is or will further improve it.

MECHANICALS: Engine is very good. it starts idles and runs well with good oil pressure and does not overheat. Gearbox (non overdrive) and axle are good. with just a slight seep from the front oil seal on the differential.

NEW Stainless exhaust with later type twin down pipe manifold. (original manifold supplied). New plugs coil etc.

Brakes; all cylinders checked and resealed where necessary. callipers painted in heat resistant red. new fluid and all work well.

INTERIOR:

Dash is good all instruments appear to work door card on passenger side has torn pocket. the rest of  the trim looks OK. I have started to refit this. There is currently only the old carpet which I will fit for the mot also the seat belts are stained so really need replacing.  I have new seats in Leather which look great (also the original ones). NEW soft top and the frames are good.

IN CONCLUSION: There is a small amount of work still to do for MOT which I am in the process of doing; the car looks very good until you really closely examine the paintwork. All the old parts come with the car including the LHD dash. steering rack etc.

Hopefully I will get it to MOT standard this week however I would be interested in an automatic classic to part exchange with preferably with some cash my way and so there is room to negotiate the price. (car currently stands me in £7500 excluding the spare chassis.
