For sale; 1984 Volkswagen Westfalia Westy This gem of a van/camper is for sale and will be a treasure for anyone who wins the bid. It has been treated with TLC. Always kept in garage or under a carport since we have had it. Very good condition
Rebuilt 1. 9 engine. less than 10. 00 miles on new engine; (vehicle has about 250. 00+ miles on it overall).
New clutch plate Brakes recently replaced New fuel filter. radiator and hoses Front seats recovered Original curtains are in good condition New window rubbers in front and on both sliders behind driver and passenger seats Heater works good New battery. Front and rear speakers. good Kenwood stereo system with CD and USB jack. Canopy good. no holes in the tent portion (see note below for information about the canopy). Stove and sink work. the refrigerator is questionable (we have never used it). We always carry a large ice chest with us. There are a couple of rust spots around front window and also very small ones around the side window above stove and sink. Not shown in photos. but it includes Yakima roof racks. Vehicle has been maintained with regular oil changes and tune-ups.
Overall. very clean and dependable!
Issues: The screen on canopy is torn. so its rolled up. but not used (we have pinned it at times). Defrost fan does not operate. but the defroster works when the heat vents are on. It has never been a problem for us. Minor oil leak coming from rear seal. Our mechanic says this is fairly common in these old vanagons and vw engines.
