This 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport Convertible is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. The Lemans was introduced in late 61 as the top of the line Tempest model with the biggest upgrade being a pair of bucket seats upfront. This generation of Lemans was just simply an OK seller but would stay in the lineup until the highly anticipated 64 model came out. This model was a complete success with the styling of the new model attracting a much younger audience. The 3rd generation. which ran from 1968 until 1972. would be the best of all the models. This 71 is a great example of what the Lemans had to offer. a great looking car that could be obtained for not a lot of money. This 71 has been painted in a nice bright white and retains the LEMANS name plate on the sides. GTO Judge Decals have been added on the sides to break the white up. but obtrusive to the overall look of this Lemans. Finishing off the exterior is a set of 18 inch Boss Motorsports wheels. The black center spokes with the polished lip really stand out and set this car off! Naturally the car looks great with the top down but in the up position the black vinyl looks amazing complimenting the white nicely. Under the hood the factory Pontiac 400 V-8 that sounds great and runs strong with the TH400 shifting through all of the gears nicely. this beauty is an absolute pleasure to drive. The white vinyl interior shows nicely with the console mounted shifter gives the car a very sporty feel. With the price of Pontiacs steadily rising and the cost of GTO’s simply out of most people’s budget the Lemans is sure to keep increasing for many years to come.
