Here is a unique opportunity to purchase one of the oldest TR4's known to exist.

Production of these cars began on July 18th 1961 with chassis number CT1 and a total of 2. 70 were produced that year. nearly all of which were left hand drive and exported to the States.

This lovely little TR4 bears the chassis number CT1. ## and was produced around September / October 1961 so far as I can ascertain. so as I say. a very early car.

I imported the car last year from California and it is totally RUST FREE. Never welded or had any panels changed and the floor pans are solid and original.

Most importantly it has the almost impossible to find "short bubble bonnet". or otherwise known as the "short hump bonnet". and painted dash etc.

This car has had only owner prior to me. I bought it directly from his son in California as the poor old guy was just too old to drive it any more.

And yes. it is 'all numbers matching'.

I have known for some time of the existence of these cars. but never seen one in the flesh before buying this one.

You will also notice the absence of the "TR4" badge on the boot. another early feature and very very rare.

In fact. I have just been reliably informed that this car is one of only a handful known to exist worldwide.

There is a very comprehensive history file for this car confirming it as only having had one owner and documenting the full service history from new.

A fully itemised invoice dated April 2006 confirms a full engine rebuild and new clutch etc at a total cost of $4. 73. Indeed. absolute fortunes have been spent on the car's mechanical maintenance over the years.

This car is totally unrestored and there a few minor marks. chips and scratches. but I must emphasise these are very minor and don't detract from the lovely overall appearance.

I personally think the car should be preserved as it is. because as they say. "they're only original once"!

However. if its a concourse TR4 you're looking for. then this is the ideal basis. you will not find a more solid car with superb floor pans etc.

Driving this car is a pure delight. I've been using the car all day today and is just so much fun!

I'm told these cars are very easy to convert to right hand drive should the car stay in the UK.

The MOT and tax (free) is valid until December of this year and I have the V5 in my name.

It drives really well as one would expect. the gear changes are precise and the brakes pull up straight and true.

All the switches and gauges also work as they should.

A full tonneau cover is fitted at present as shown which extends forwards and clips to the dash pad as it should.

The hood frame is folded away and there are 2 hoods stowed in the boot. along with several spare parts.

So to sum up. here is a chance to own an incredibly rare car. probably the only one you'll ever see!

Priced at a very reasonable £13. 90 i believe this car to be excellent value for money. and with prices rising rapidly its a great investment!

Try to find another - you wont!

I will listen to sensible CLOSE offers and might consider a cheaper part exchange - preferably a classic.

Payment will be preferably by bank transfer to my company account and a full invoice will be issued.

Delivery is possible at reasonable extra cost. subject of course to full prior payment.
