This 1971 Buick Riviera started out as a white car with a brown interior and a brown vinyl top. I purchased the car I Texas in 2005 and had it shipped to Illinois. When it arrived in Illinois it was dismantled down to the frame. The body was stripped down to bare metal and re-painted in Mercedes silver. All the chrome was re-chromed. All the stainless trim was polished. The interior was re-upholstered in red high quality vinyl and I changed the stitch pattern because I didn't like the original design. I also got rid of the fake wood so it is now upholstered where the fake wood look was. While I was going through this restoration I acquired a second 71 Riviera with a black interior that I Used as a parts car mainly for the interior. This car did not have the sun damage that the Texas car had so the black pieces like the dash and the center console and seat belts where used to make the interior red and black. The original 455 was re-built with a mid cam. edelbrock intake and a quick fuel 750 cfm carb and Kenne Bell ceramic coated headers. This is got a race car. I just wanted to improve it a little bit. Dual exhaust with 3" pipe and magna flow mufflers. sounds fantastic!I converted the rear brakes to disc and put 18" Boyd Coddington polished junk yard dog rims. The front grille is the metal one that I decided to powder coat silver instead of re-chrome. It has the chopped front bumper but I also have the original front bumper that I had re-chromed that will come with the car. So if you prefer the original look you will be able to swap them out. As you may know. 71 was the only year that the Riviera had this type of bumper. The car was pretty much completed about four years ago but stored in a climate controlled warehouse and not used. So there are virtually no miles on the car since it was completely re-built. Earlier this year I moved from Illinois to Arizona so the car is back in the warm weather. I have driven it a couple of times and it runs strong and sounds fantastic. I get a lot of compliments and interest the car looks great. However. the car does need a couple of things. Nothing major. The carb could do with some fine tuning and I think the car just needs to be driven. The horn needs to be installed. the horn button is included. The hood needs to be aligned. I will include a spare set of hood hinges. The a/c needs to be charged. if you want it! The paint has a couple of flaws that can easily be fixed. you can see those in the pictures.  A lot of time and money went into this car. The reserve is nothing in comparison. This is not a show car. but it could be. Most of the money has been spent. and the work has been done. It's hard to cover everything so if you are interested please contact me with any questions you might have. Thanks. and good luck!
